Not understanding why people mad about the rubberband comment. I agree. If I’m paying a professional to do my braids ($150 for my braiding girl plus the tip cause she does amazing) they better not but rubberbands in my head. I pay you enough so you need to know how to grip. I’m gonna start doing my own braids and keeping them in for only about 4 weeks and I don’t even have to use the bands.

Your point is understandable, but as a braider myself I think it's important to know how to properly use both methods. The rubber band method allows for free movement of each braid in any direction without pulling. It all comes down to the client's preference. I wouldn't mind paying the price if the braids came out neat and if the parts were clean and defined, rubber bands or not. But that's just me.

I guess it shows how comfortable she was with your hands on her hair like that. With other hairdresser's, it'll hurt so bad you can't sit comfortably talkless of falling asleep.

Exactly! Totally unprofessional. Then they have all that breakage after. Then its like doing the hair twice. Once to put the bands and another to actually braid. God bless you!! Real professional.

As a professional, rubber elastics are preferred. It allows movement from day 1 versus your method where it will pull if she wants a ponytail. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Your results were nice tho.
@amaris7619

Actually as a licensed professional rubber bands aren't the best if you specialize in healthy hair.... as a professional I've learned alot of stylist don't specialize in healthy hair.. You want your client to have hair for next time!!! Smh

I was thinking about using the half C pattern as to have a natural lye pattern but do you think the triangle is best? Also my natural hair is bra strap length and I braided waist super jumbo braids during the Spring but wanted a little shorter this time. How best would you think ti cut the hair. I have the Expression hair.
