This is a video about how to jump a foil behind a boat, highlighting some of the learning process me and my friends have had over the last year or so. Hopefully some helpful info on gear, setup, and how to get started.
We have put about 350 hours on the water over the last year or so, progressed quite a bit, and had a blast doing it!
Let me know if you have any questions or would like advice on any foil stuff!

Yep speed right around 10.5-11.5. Armstrong has a 50, 60, and 70cm fuse. I personally like the 50 but a lot like the 60, I dont know of anyone on the 70cm behind the boat. I like using straps for all my riding because tacos happen fast, so I use them for everything but when im doing dock starts. That being said, riding strapless does allow you to adjust your stance better for long pumping runs or specific turns. But jumping with or without the rope I love straps and heelstraps. Ive ridden and jumped the 999, hps930, hps830, and png850 with the crazyshort advance fuse. It was a little longer then the armstrong 50cm if I remember right, with the sillyshort advance fuse being a little shorter then the armstrong 50.

Great video! Thanks so much I'm really excited to try some of the stuff out. I'm looking for something on sale right now around $1,000 for a complete set and I found the liquid force horizon 125 foil on a 4 4 board. Do you know anything about that? Looks like it's designed for this sort of thing.

@@garrettpeterson9816im not sure on that one; it is marked down a ton. The surface area around 1200cm would be about right. The only foils ive ridden from them were kind of “clunky” slow and heavy. That said, it looked like that setup had a carbon mast not aluminum so thats good. The used market can be tough, but you could likely get a used armstrong setup for around that. The board maybe not though, there pretty new still and not much used availability. For the foil itself watch out for an armstrong 72cm A+ mast, 50 or 60cm fuse, 232, ha, v, or surf 205 tail, and hs1250 or cf1200 front wing. If your just beginning those are gonna be a little tough to get going on, but once you learn there not something you would outgrow very quickly. Hope that helps!

I am jumping on my efoil without straps, so this video was interesting. Have you tried without straps?

Hey Mark! Great video, man, thanks for your help, and the information. I am bout 250, but I have the option for as big a wave as I want w/ my 2018 Axis T22. So, I am thinking something around the lower aspect will be good for this...when you talk about speed (slower or not) what is the reference point, i.e. what speed are you talking, I think I ride about 10 or 11 right now but how does that compare? Does Armstrong have varying sizes of fuse, cause Axis does, and the crazy short will turn a little faster, but I am guessing it's not as forgiving on landings as a longer fuse. Do you recommend starting the jumps, in the flats w/ straps or strapless, then build up to straps? I know you prefer straps and based on the video. Also, I didn't think the ART999 was good for breaching.
