Awesome video! a few keywords make such a major difference: popping is about the legs "pushing hard on the back leg while riding upwind". Been trying to unlock preload pop and got stuck because wasn't keeping low enough and then not really pushing on the back leg while going upwind too at the same time. Such golden words Mike thanks!

Mike, awesome, thanks a lot. Always so great to watch your riding style. Maybe see ya in one of your clinics in marocco. Was in Essaouira last year and the first 3-5 waves out there where really challenging. I started on a day training there where the apps reported a shorebreak of 2,7 meters hight. It was awesome ;) I had to learn verrrrry fast to get through this line of death ;) Riding back to the shore was like watching a truck hitting the ground. Very spooky and days I will never forget. Stay safe & happy to see more of your great tutorials! BR from Munich Daniel

It looks like you are boosting well before the kite gets to twelve. Is that what I should be looking to do?
@gethighwithmike4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'd say the sweetspot for liftoff is around 10/11, with the kite approaching 12 super fast. The faster it moves the more it lifts ⚡

Thanks mate! Great video! A question I have which has been answered by two really good riders with opposing views is. When riding towards your jump, should your kite be low to water (provides max edging) and then yank it up to 12 to go really big. Or do you keep it at 45° and just get better timing with the pop?
@gethighwithmike4 жыл бұрын
Good question Garrick! Based on my countless hours testing this: You definitely don't want it too low to the water, or the kite will pull you off your edge at a suboptimal point (before the kite has managed to get above you). So I recommend riding with the kite between 35 and 40 degrees - still allowing you to have decent edging and good timing.
@lifeofgarrick4 жыл бұрын
@@gethighwithmike thanks Mike! I'll be sure to give it a go next session. Your advice helped heaps in the waves today - I've started pulling jumps off smaller waves and it really does make a difference 👍

Mike and Anton, love the videos and have definitely improved jumping and other tricks with your videos. Well explained... My question is related to jumping. My current best is 43 feet and want to push 50 feet by end of this summer. I am 6' 3" and weigh 230 lbs. Am I pushing the limits of how high I can really jump because of my weight? I know I'm getting good speed and edging hard. I keep pushing myself to go faster and edge harder to gain as much tension and timing. I am improving because I do get more 30'+ jumps in a session, but maybe my 43 feet is just the acceptable best given my frame size. Looking forward to your response.
