When you pop on flat ground it's totally okay for your front tips to not even come off the ground because when you go off a jump, you need to be "nose down" in relation to the jump. This way you'll land on flat ground or on the downslope. Basically, if you're flat or flat ground, you'll land on your butt on a jump where it's sloping back. Good video

@@pangpangpanqsq your legs and joints are not going to have a good time then, you should be landing on a downward slope if you are going off a jump lol

This is a great, easy-to-understand video. Jumps have looked so cool and intimidating, but I finally feel ready for it. Also, love how the video suddenly goes from you showing us to the "cameraman" wanting to try it, and then you giving him pointers! That was really helpful, and unexpected in the best way.

This "pop" is what I refer to as launching. It can be a little pop or a bit leap. In either case, you want to launch off the ramp because that launch creates your vertical orientation. Not launching will result in your skis zipping forward while the rest of you watches your tips slowly go above your head. I recommend against doing that unless the goal is to perform a back flip.

Great tutorial, simple and clear! Being a twin tip kiteboarder I really want to press my heels, need to get away from it, leads to bad crashes. Looks so easy but it isn't.

Hey I got in question do you want to point down or lean forward when jumping that I was not sure about?
@garrettkim242910 ай бұрын
This is a great video! The weight on the heels tip might fix my issue. My skis are relatively short and center mounted. Every now and then I'll pop off a jump and feel that my ankles and toes want to point downward too far. This leaves me terrified that my tips are going to snag. When I jump outside of skiing, I usually take off from my toes and they end up pointed down in the air. I think that's what's messing me up.

You know what you should do? Maybe you should make a video about how to jump on skis, if you think you could do a better job. We will probably do another version of this video this season and make the explanation clearer. Great thing about youtube though, is you are getting this for free, so you can watch as many “How to Jump” videos as you want and compare different people’s explainations
