Good vid, came for the tips and tricks happy to see i'm on par with you on this already. Amazing what you find after an event sometimes i've had the bolts on both of my rear spring adjustment cups (2 piece coilover setup) hanging out by a couple of threads and even had my front wheel nuts back themselves almost all the way out after they were torqued before the track. I agree with check every time you get home!

That rattle you're getting when backing the car up, is that the input shaft or the diff?
@michaelmahoney50126 жыл бұрын
What are the downsides (or upsides) to going with a convertible e36 chassis? I see convertibles going for a bit cheaper but was wondering if there's a reason for that
@AdamCMoreno6 жыл бұрын
Michael Mahoney I think they’re less safe because they don’t have an actual hard top. But I do know that people still drift them. But those who do drift in convertibles, usually have a cage or a roll bar or something so it’s a lot safer.
@Jakekola6 жыл бұрын
Because you need to spend a lot of dough to be able to drift them on a track. (Roll bar/ cage). The chassis is less stiff by design than a coupe or sedan.
@chelseadenofa6 жыл бұрын
stay away, more costly in the long run.

Hey chelsea what would you think about having a 2.56 diff in a 328 and just using first and second gear? Or should I put a 3.73 in my 3.15 casing I have laying around?

My e36 only makes a clunky metal on metal noise when I hit bigger bumps. Subframe and bushings are good, nothing is loose. It has cheap coils on it. Think that could be my problem?
@chelseadenofa6 жыл бұрын
Get rid of the cheap coilOVERS. Stop calling them coils too, sounds uneducated, Dont be that guy, I know you're not. :)

Looking into getting an e36 soon as a toy. Are there any technical reasons to go with a coupe/sedan/hatch? Is one stiffer than the other or I know on some cars the sedan versions don't have the same amount of space in the rear for wider tires. What about on e36s? Is there any reason to step up to an e46? Im looking at non m3 cars.
@chelseadenofa6 жыл бұрын
Sedan is stiffest, safest, easiest to work on and lighter than the coupe... Coupes are lame. The 318ti is a very different car, not the same as the normal e36's. Rear half of the car is basically an E30. M3 sedan is really the best option. Finding a ragged out one for 3000-4000 is the best option.
@MrTshoff6 жыл бұрын
Wow didn't know that about the 318ti. I'll keep that in mind though. The m3 sedans are tough to find for me but I'll definitely be on the lookout for a good sedan. Appreciate the response! I didn't want to buy a nissan and the e36's are still damn good looking and just as versatile so that's what I landed on

About to buy an e36 but its convertible, should i wait and find a hard top? Is drifting a convertible safe? Like lower structural stability and whatever
@AdamCMoreno6 жыл бұрын
Convertibles are cool! But if you’re planning to drift it, I’d prepare to buy a roll bar or maybe getting a cage for safety reasons. Just because you never know. But I know people still drift convertibles! Wish you luck man !
@Jakekola6 жыл бұрын
Better budget out a rollbar or up to 5k for a full cage. No track I know of will let you drift a convertible.
@chelseadenofa6 жыл бұрын
Put a roll bar in it right away... Or buy a sedan instead.
@brockbain86566 жыл бұрын
5k for a cage????? ive had full cages with door plates, intrusion bars and connecting into the engine bay for a tube front/rear done for 2k AUD (like 1200 USD)... where ever you get your cages done. DONT!!! My cages also have seat mounts for containment aluminium seats and also mounts for a mid mount radiator in car (habit from speedway, cant get damaged if you nudge someone on accident)
@Mattars6 жыл бұрын
Jake Kolasinski 5k for a roll cage? I've been quoted $1,000 -$1200 for a full cage in my s13 vert by 2 different people

@conorfinn24626 жыл бұрын
Boostforthecuree e46s Have very weak axels. Best thing to do is get a diff and axels from a diesel e46 or I think 330s have the bigger ones too
