Did I miss something, this looked like it was a boxing and portioning with zero explanation about how to actually keep black worms. Cool video, but misleading title imo.

I appreciate this comment alot, i did explain the portion sizing as the worms will suffocate each other if theres too many and that they hate the heat and thats why we keep them in the fridge in a shallow container. But i think your right i could have spent more time on the how and why of what i was doing. thanks for the advice

bro just use a fork .... wtf method of transferring is that? Youre just mangling that product as you shove the cup through them... in water... use fork while they are in water... Please do not ever show me that Net scoop separate method again... that was a bad method to show people. Just saying...

Hi Mate, just curious how long they last in the container in the fridge? When i get my live from the local they keep them in a big tub of water and i normally keep mine in the same size as yours but in water. Never seen them in just a tub like that.

wow, I ordered half a kilo from the same place and got a completely different experience to yours. I believe mine we only in the post for 2 days. the worms themselves were more like an off light colour brown(not dark like yours) which lead me believe they were all dead.I did spot a few patches of darker ones so thought I would give them a chance. when I opened the plastic bag, the smell was terrible. I think I have rinsed them over 10 times now in a tub and the smell is still very very strong . Ive have them in much cleaner water now but it continues to smell and go dark. they are stored in the shade on the verandah with an air stone in the water. the flies are coming from every where and trying to get to them. They have a sand base in their tank and it looks like some are still alive and going into the sand but its likely way less than 1/4 of the quantity ordered. Ultimately I just wanted to start a culture so can do that from what I have left I hope. Overall, it's not been a very good experience considering it cost me $120 for them. The one positive it I have yet to see one leech or flat worm in there.

Just a quick follow up on this one. Ive been in touch with the supplier to outline my experience and they have provided me with a full refund despite me not asking for one. Can't complain about that. I was going to chalk it up to bad luck and take the hit but they looked after me. I still need add another option for live food for my pea puffers but can manage with the grindal worms and brine shrimp for now. The good news is I found 5 live worms. if they survive I might end up with something in the end. I'll certainly re-order once the weather cools down.

Do they not need water in the fridge, I thought the fridge would dry them out?

They did have water with them but yeah not alot as they only need to be covered, not heaps of water or it's hard for them to get oxygen, in saying that I would suggest putting a little more water then I had as they crawl all. Over the tubs and then they can dry out, so maybe that will help ( I lost very little, and even then they were still. OK to feed to the fish in that short period of time)
