I wash my locs every two weeks in every month. Just with a shampoo. Because too much products increase the state of it being dirt. After a year...my locs are so clean and healthy. Most at times too I use hot water on my locs... not necessarily using a shampoo

@@jnalocscommunity That's great! My mum put me on to hot water and I've never looked back. It is amazing how much more cleaner locs can get just by using hot water instead of cold water.🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Your hair is so beautiful. Here in the US, it's all about perfect smooth, tight, tiny locks. Not only is that time consuming and expensive but over time I have noticed thinning. So I was looking for an alternative. I will check out your course

I hate to see people's hair thin out, it really breaks my heart.😢😢 I hope you enjoy this method as much as I do. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️

I wash once a week & rinse mid week. The only products I use are shampoos. That's part of the time freedom of having locs. I then air dry after using about 4 towels. My waist length locs dry fast. (Love your locs btw)

I love your routine! It's interesting that you still air dry even with waist length locs. People often argue with me that it isn't possible. I'll show them your comment next time. Thank you so much, dear.😊😊😘😘 All Glory to God!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

@LilianOkibe Definitely easier for them to dry with no prod9. Same for relaxed or loose natural hair. I dare you to try it 1 day 😉.

I always air dry my locs. I've been doing that since I had loose hair. In fact, I don't dry with a towel first; I only squeeze out the excess water with my hands and let the air and/or a fan do the rest. Although I disagree, people say that I'll have issues with air drying when my locs get long so I'm glad to see that you still do that with waist length locs.🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

I’ve had my Locs for 4 years now, using very minimal products in between washes (just a single oil at this point) and noticed in the last few months a mildew smell when my Locs in the back of my head are damp even after a wash with a clarifying shampoo which smell goes away when fully dry however I am realizing. I’m realizing I may not have been as thorough and will need to do a detox. Would you say doing a deep clean (I know you always mention go in with hot water, not scalding hot that will burn but just very hot) is best with just an acidic (vinegar) or a basic solution (basic as in baking soda or a dishwashing soap) is best, then following up with a neutralizing shampoo or conditioner . I know it’s not good to combine vinegar with baking soda as I see all over KZbin , my fear is extremely damaging my hair but would love your insight on which more natural clarifier is best to use

I'm not really a fan of baking soda and ACV for removing product buildup. However, it doesn't sound like what you have is buildup. Your locs most likely smell like that because you probably made it a habit of not drying the back area properly. It's similar to what happens when you wash something thick like a blanket or pair of jeans. If certain parts don't dry properly, it'll start to smell funny and if this goes on for too long, that smell will stick to the fabric. Doing a loc detox for your situation is not a bad idea but what you should focus on is getting a fresh scent to penetrate into your locs and then drying properly in the sun. Get a light shampoo that has a fresh scent (preferably citrus or floral scent). Put a little quantity in lukewarm water; you don't need the water to be hot because you don't have buildup. The water should not be too soapy so that it can easily penetrate your locs. Soak your locs in for some minutes and then wash and rinse thoroughly. Afterwards, dry your locs properly in the sun. I hope this helps.❤️❤️❤️

You are gorgeous! Your haïr is beautiful and so shiny. What do you think about brushing the locs. I washed it like you said in another but i finally brushed then because the lint wouldn't come out
@LilianOkibe2 ай бұрын
@@Nkoussou_chan Thank you so much dear.😊😊😘😘 All Glory to God!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 I've actually talked about brushing locs before; that I didn't think it was necessary but I don't completely agree with that sentiment anymore. Although I don't brush my locs; I think if you can find the right brush, it may help get out stubborn dirt or lint. The brush shouldn't be too hard or too soft and shouldn't be used too frequently so that you don't end up breaking too many hair strands. You may need to test out a few to figure out what this means for you.❤️❤️❤️

Hello Lillian, my interlocks has knots. How do I stop the knots?
@LilianOkibe4 ай бұрын
Hello Nzubechukwu! I'm not sure I understand your question. With interlocking, you're creating knots with your locs intentionally so I'm not sure what you mean by "knots".
@nzubechukwu28564 ай бұрын
@@LilianOkibe Yes that’s what I mean. I have 82 locs and I was thinking if I can switch to crochet maintenance. My loctician told me I should stick to interlocking but it leave knots in my hair.
@LilianOkibe4 ай бұрын
@nzubechukwu2856 It's expected for interlocking to leave knots in your locs. You can switch to the crochet method if you don't want that. Ask your loctitian why they don't want you to switch, he/she may have a valid reason or maybe they just prefer interlocking.❤️❤️❤️

@LilianOkibe3 ай бұрын
@@freshappleseed6966 I don't think that would be a problem because hair moves and flows in response to the wind so the friction wouldn't be high enough to cause damage.❤️❤️❤️
