I used Jason Markk kits to clean my shoes, but it can get messy using water. I started using Repel so I can minimize cleaning with cleaner and water. The foam cleaner sounds more practical to use esp. if someone is always cleaning their shoes...

I live in FL. Rain can happen at the drop of a dime. I do use water repellent even on a sunny day because you have no idea.
