All of these activities have been so great for my pup! I had to have a lot of them set up in advance when she was really little because her attention span was so short! Lots of frozen kongs, topples, and other toys I could smear things into...it gave me time to get things done!

When my dadchund girl was an adolescent, we used frozen kongs a lot!! Now we mainly use Bully Stick and other non rawhide chews. She mainly sleeps as soon as my laptop pops open.

Question- in the box of stuff for puppy to dig through if you put things like towels and water bottles, will this teach them to think those things are okay to chew later on? I just don’t want my puppy to get used to chewing towels like they’re toys, but if this won’t happen I will try! Thank you for the helpful suggestions!

It's all about context. If you give your dog a chance to do the things he loves in a dog safe manner, he's less likely to do them when you don't want them! It's like a child who colors on paper, not on walls! It takes some practice and supervision at first but puppies can learn context clues too!

A lot of these are treat motivated. What happens when your puppy doesn't really care about treats?
@HowToTrainADreamDog8 ай бұрын
You might need to experiment with some different kinds. If your dog won't take treats in specific situations it's likely that he's overwhelmed or stressed. Take note of the environment and try to make some changes to make him more comfortable.

ANY hard item to chew on can break teeth!

Yes! That's why supervision with chew toys, especially new ones, is so important.
