I got a fancy picnic basket with the enamel plates, bowls, and mugs for $19 at goodwill!! ... But the straps don't work, they are worn out and they have popped off. How can I attached the leather straps securely without breaking the wicker???!?!?! that bolt and washer looks ugly, my basket doesnt have that sticking out.

It's ot hard to add new straps. Use sturdy, flexible plastic (from a otor oil bottle) for a backing, drill a hole through it and the strap, and use a nice machine screw with washers and a nut, then a dab of RTV silicone to secure the nut.I use a strip of thin plywood for the handle to support more weight.

That's hardly the "perfect picnic basket." It's only big enough for 1 or 2 people. You'll need a large $80 hamper for all the people seen in this video.
