I heard from my master that kuthu varisai is not free hand method which shows in all videos. It is done with a long stock and it's mainly focus on point the sticks shaft at below and attack to above. And kuthu varisai is one of the 18 adavu of ancient authentic silambam which created by The sage Agasthya NB: Iam from Kerala, I heard nearly everyone who teaching silambam is just only some stick methods which have too many gaps too. But the original silambam is prepared without any gap even with sword/knife methods. I heard from him that only 2 family's in Tamil Nadu village know Sidhar Agasthyars authentic silambam. But he didn't tell me where the location is. But if you are eager to learn ancient marital arts saw a video - Martial arts in God's Warrior The Traditional Scool channel. Watch that video I think that really help you. In that video he mentions about some good masters too. And if you are very intersted in learn martial arts, to know if it's proper method just kindly ask to every master you can meet and ask about somethings i mentioned too.
