I absolutely loved this game, yeah it had some things i wasnt too into but the overall experience was great. I loved the whole ending sequence too (aside from the rather long bond fetch quest) and thought reclusa was a great villain. Having the villian basically be a basement dweller discord mod/redditer that wants to trap everyone in the matrix was incredible

I feel like I'm the only one who actually LOVED the pacing! The game is constantly introducing new stuff, and even on the couple occasions where the story forces you to return to a few islands, they change a LOT about them to keep things fresh. The side quests are also freaking cute, and I enjoyed basically all the content this game had to offer. I think it's up there with BIS as the best in the series! Idk if it completely dethrones BIS, but it's close!

Brothership is a flawed game that simultaneously made me want less and more from it, but the stuff it did well it did so well and with such sincerity that I can't help but love it deeply. My honest review of the whole thing is a single sentence: My first playthrough took more than 50 hours, and it couldn't always sustain that, but I want to play it again.

As someone who did a beanless wear-less level 40 playthrough i actually really liked the final boss. The scans in phase 1 make him guard against that attack for the rest of the fight. So you have to kill it as fast as possible or risk bros attacks being basically useless for phase 2. It feels super rewarding to finally learn the timing for the rolling ball attack and get some mega counters in on it, saving me from potentially using a bros attack or two, allowing me to use Conductor Connector at full effectiveness in phase 2

The most unsettling part of the game was the Real villain showed up in the egg. But the Creepy part was the people of Concordia and the Toads was trapped inside these Villy of the Valley VR-like Helmet, also the last level Mario and Luigi was almost confronting the Final boss but also got trapped by the Helmet too in a Mushroom Kingdom VR prison.

The hardest part of the final fight was going up the tree I couldn't get all the way up and had to do the whole doom bloom fight again for 2 hours straight the Lights of the tree made it hard to see the fire/ice attacks and I had to worry about the other obstacles on top of it nor was I overpowered for this making so much harder

Mario & Luigi Brothership has become my #1 favorite game in the series. In my opinion, I would rank it above Dream Team and Superstar Saga but below Bowser’s Inside Story. It’s not as amazing as BiS, but it is still really good! My one big issue though is the lack of replayability. There are some things I haven’t completed yet, but once that’s done with…. It’s done. There’s nothing much that I can do other than try to level up the Bros. to the max. That and a few other nitpicks aside, I really love this game. I’ve been playing through it with my boyfriend, and it was such an unforgettable experience.

So about the Weeping core phase, this phase is basic. Once you use the same attack twice, bros or standard, he will take no more damage for that attack. Its basically stopping you from spamming the same powerful bros attack over and over again.

I love how he is the oppposite of Zokket, while Zokket has minimal motivation or emotions, Reclusa is motivated by isolating everyone in a blissful construct and is constantly gleeful and chaotic in that fact, making him being the true villain work well especially with how it gave us the chaotic villain after having mostly humorous or simple emotionally villains.

I know it was partly due to the fact I was a bit overleveled, but I’d say the final gauntlet against Reclusa was kinda underwhelming. Each phase had so little health that I could beat them all in 2-4 Bros Attacks. I get that’s to compensate for the fact that there’s so many distinct phases, but it just felt underwhelming because I barely got to see what he could do during each phase because of how fast I could blitz him down.

I think what we could easily do to fix that Is that like right when you break reclusa out of the weeping core, you can have him be perfectly still, but his screen which show a bunch of different characters that had the VR flowers on their head on the screen and then Mario Luigi with the VR flowers show up on the screen with him saying” going through Mario Bros memory data” then he will say” six enemy data’s retrieve” and will start copying and listing the names of these data’s saying” enemy data of Caletta copied, data of elder princess shrood copied, Enemy data of dark star, Fauvel copied, enemy data of dreamy, Bowser copied, enemy data of shiny Robo copied. Commencing merging and uploading.” After saying this, his body begins to shake, and his left arm on his head, splits in three in the hands turn into shroob pinchers, his right arm on his head, becoming smoky and cloudy, his two hands on his body become the arms and hand of dark star Fauvel as his body transforms into a giant Dreamstone and his head becomes bigger, becoming a wide screen TV it didn’t extra reinforce metal that’s shiny wrapped around his head with eyes on top. With his new form becoming final abomination reclosa. With him having the attacks of previous bosses and you can even combine some of those to make a new ones. Like combining one of Caletta’s attacks with one of elder princess shrood attacks. The possibilities are endless, and you would have to attack each body part in order to leave him being just ahead you know if you could do damage to him the order of body parts you have to destroy goes like this: first the Caletta arm, then the elder princess shrood arm, then the dark star arms, then the giant dream stove, then the shiny metal head coating, which comes from shiny Rob browser, which just leaves his head

The game is really lacking in boss refights and endgame challenges. I shouldn't have to do arbitrary "no gear" playthroughs in order to feel challenged. Part of me hopes they will give us an update with a hard mode or some secret bosses to give us a challenge.

Had read up on the weeping core: you basically can't hit for hard damage with the same bro's moves more than twice. Once Weeping core says "Analysis complete of-" said bro's move, any further usage of that scanned move will deal reduced damage as the core will guard against that attack. I hadn't known this when i battled the core, but when i seen the text saying it was scanning my bro's moves, i had the wiggens that something negative for me would happen if it successfully scanned the move, so i just used each bro's move only once, in a "disturb it's scan and keep it from scanning my moves" kind of thing until i broke the core. When i read it; found the effect wasn't as bad as i originally feared, but was still justified in making sure i didn't repeat usage on a specific bro's move, as the reduce damage would still be a pain to deal with.

Honestly Reclusa has a great design but was way out of left field and overstayed his welcome. The whole playing tag part in the mushroom kingdom AR was grueling. For being someone who wants to be alone so bad, she sure loves spending time w the bros. The solitree itself was a slog to get through as well. I hate final areas that are “Here’s the central room that take you directly to the end, but first you have to do 6-8 trials based on puzzles you already did. Then when I thought I was at the end, I had to do the mushroom kingdom but that went on WAY TOO LONG
