For anyone wondering if this will work on cannabis. The answer is yes. They love it. I wouldn’t use it past the 2nd week in flower but game on in veg. I hit my mothers with it 45mins after lights out the night before taking cuttings. I use the exact formula giving here and use tap water. 3 tbsp per gallon of water. Excellent video. Has saved me big $$ from not having to buy the expensive “cannabis” solutions that barely worked. Thanks a million

Hey Mike - Good Day, Eh! You reminded me about Epsom salt, so I added a tablespoon to my gallon of house plant fertilizer to water my Gerber Daisy's, (same plant I've had for seven years, it flowers throughout the winter indoors). When I later check on the plant, a bouquet of several plants now, the brilliant-orange flowers were radiant, the shades of red-orange resonated. I was truly wowed! Good Stuff, thanks for all the great gardening videos, totally appreciate your enthusiasm.

Hello Mike, Always enjoy watching your videos and learning new things...My Rhododendrons look bad, going to try the sulfur. Couple questions: 1.) I bought a pink tree peony in a gallon size container about 3 weeks ago. It looks like a graft cutting about 8” tall and 3/4”-1” trunk....when I went to repot it all the soil just fell off and it didn’t look like a healthy root system. Just a few straggly roots. Repotted it in larger container anyway. Its been 3 days...it has some leaves , tiny and closed upward, starting to turn slightly brown...been watering it every couple days. I am in the outskirts of Seattle...I think I am Zone 9 would like some feed back. 2) I have a very shallow wheel barrow, probably from the 70’s . 7” depth at the deeper end and 3 1/2” depth at the shallow end. I repainted it due to the rust (not all the way through) and then drilled some drainage holes hoping to put some plants in it. Searched YT and Pinterest but I see all deeper wheelbarrows being used. So my question is for advice on some plant combinations that would do well in a varying shallow depth wheelbarrow.
@MikeKincaid79
@MikeKincaid79 3 жыл бұрын
Give the peony time to recover. Even though we've had all this hot weather, it's still really early on and the plants haven't had time to fully waken. I'm a little nervous about the weather right now due to the lack of rain and all the early heat. I think it might be a tough year for a lot of plants and I'm a little nervous for all the fir trees. I know that no one wants to hear it but we need a few days of rain, desperately. You can plant bulbs in shallow wheelbarrows and my wife planted some carnations in one. She has a video about it from last summer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oprPgqCMfdKih80
@tinaknutsen
@tinaknutsen 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply back...another question; I watched your wife’s wheelbarrow video...I love what she did ...I have 3 antique wheelbarrows to fill and she gave me some good inspiration. One is very shallow and I have seen some videos/succulents done as a living wall...so figured their root system must be shallow enough to work for this particular wheelbarrow. How do you prepare your soil for succulents, hens and chicks- could I use aloe vera with that grouping of plants...as far as compatibility? I was thinking as a center piece. I’m thinking I would have to protect the aloe from our rain and dig it out at the end of summer. Supposed to rain Thursday....which I am excited about since I forgot to turn off the water in the front and back yard and my husband said he would rather see the lawn die than pay a $500. Water bill...I felt horrible, but alas...he never promised me a rose garden so I have been making my own 🌹 gardens and when all is said and done...he is building me another greenhouse since he loves me so... during our courting I bought him 2 different varieties of Japanese Maples and planted those in his back yard. Well his backyard was a blank slate and not real big but the transformation was incredible and after my first year of working daily, rain or shine, he built me my first little greenhouse and that was when I came across your channel, because I wanted to learn how to propagate, divide and do root cuttings. You have inspired me and have always responded to any questions I have had. I really appreciate it and thank you for taking me along your journey and inspiring me to continue with this passion and addiction of growing and creating beautiful spaces....which brings so much joy on so many levels. Thank you! P..S. Wish you had a share board for your followers to share their favorite before and after photos....I think that would be awesome!

@@tinaknutsen I think the aloe would go great with the hens and chicks but yes, you'll have to dig it out for the winter and bring it inside more than likely. Spray away! It won't harm them at all. This stuff is devastating to russet mites.
@RyanBrrr
@RyanBrrr 2 жыл бұрын
Sulfur will eradicate russet mites in short order, but you absolutely should not spray beyond the second week of flower, at most. If your infestation is bad enough to negatively effect your buds, take the loss and carefully remove the plant from your garden. Sulfur can damage bud development/quality and it’s residue is not safe to consume in the ways you likely would with canna.

@MikeKincaid79

It's root weevil. It's a beetle like creature that lives in the soil and crawls up the plant at night to take chunks out of the leaves. It will also destroy the roots and branches. You can buy a solution to treat it at most big box stores. I get the same problem around here occasionally with my rhododendrons. To be honest though, I've never treated it. I just keep mulching and pruning and the ones that get affected one year usually bounce back and look great the next.

Hey Mike, I'm pulling my hair out with pest insects indoors on my houseplants as I live on the ground floor and am surrounded by 10foot hedges... the critters just come in on the wind... I'm seriously contemplating using sulphur on my houseplants, I know some plants are susceptible to it... I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on using sulphur indoors. Or anyone's thoughts for that matter - I'd appreciate it.
@MikeKincaid79
@MikeKincaid79 Жыл бұрын
I've used it on different plants and never had a problem. As far as I've seen over the years, sulfur is safe on any plant. The problem is spraying with sulfur and then putting the plant in full sun or under really bright lights, it can burn the leaves. Use the spray and wait a week before rinsing off. There's also a slight egg smell for a day or two but this stuff is effective. I actually just use my sulfur and soap mix together in one solution and it does the trick.

I don't think sulfur would be a problem as it is used mostly to target very small organisms like fungus, thrips, mites, etc. I just found some info on it that says it has a low level of toxicity to bees, which I assume would hold true for butterflies, but that's only if they ingest it and I don't think they'll be targeting the sulfur for consumption. www.ladybug.uconn.edu/FactSheets/insecticides--low-toxicity-options.php

@@luckybarrel7829 that's smart to find low maintenance plants But as the video Maker noted if the plant is unhealthy that's when it gets attacked. Healthy plants are self-caring and use pheromones to ward off and to call in help. As long as a plant has what it needs to generate the pheromones. The reason scary stories are spread about DE, like it's dangerous to breathe even a bit, is because it's effective and safe, unlike what prez says is. But don't snort the stuff. The chemical companies are selling poisonous products way more dangerous than DE. The dust around your house is more dangerous than DE. One of my dog's favorite activities is to get dusted with DE anytime day or night all year long. If there was lung damage going on he'd have shown it. His snozzola and lungs are top notch and never gets poisons applied like the vet recommends. He's flea and tick free and only scratches when he's wanting a dust bath with DE. Which frankly doesn't have much smell to it.

Yes, it is a preventive. It won’t cure it once it’s in the tissue of the leaves. You spray the tree with it in late fall and again in early spring before it blooms. Check your local agricultural extension for more info on fruit trees. I don’t think there is any cure once you have a leaf curl infection. So, prevention is the key.
