I got shivers down my spine when you said "the most comprehensive guide to crabgrass on KZbin". I really don't think that over sells it at all. Only problem is I have all of those weeds and I was hoping you were going to tell me about some goblin piss product that would kill all of those and not hurt my Bermuda. Thanks for the knowledge!

You taught me well, my friend. Prodiamine early, and a follow up with Dithiopyr worked for me. I can count the the number of crabgrass plants in my yard on one hand this year. 👍

I’ve also used this strategy the last 2 seasons with almost flawless success. Adjacent neighbors are littered with patches, especially along the driveways and sidewalks where heat radiates.

Amazing KZbin video...so informative for me personally. I have 4 acres of lawn in Michigan, and as of this writing, August 22, my lawn has been totally taken over by crabgrass as it's full and thick. As an annual weed, do I just wait till next year and let it die over the winter, and hit a pre emergent in spring of 2020, or should I do something now for a better lawn in 2020??? It has already produced a lot of seed stalk, so I'm screwed for 2020, so I need to do a pre emergent next year. If I kill the crabgrass now, I will have no lawn at all this year. Am I thinking this correctly? Or should I spend money killing the crabgrass now, knowing it will eventually die, but to expect it to sprout next year because the seeds have already been produced? Thanks for responding back.

Had to go to KZbin app to post my thanks. This WAS a well documented comprehensive review of the products recommended for use for crabgrass control. Especially relevant was the guide on efficacy during crabgrass growth, and how these highly rated products do NOT perform best at all stages. With diligent timing and scheduling, most of these products will seem to meet expectations. Some double as pre-emergent or control many other nuisance grasses. Thanks again for validating my belief there is no ONE miracle product, but many come close when used properly.

Thanks for the great content. I find it harder to follow when you use the brand names of the products because usually where I get the products they don’t carry the brand names you’re talking about. I know you mentioned the active ingredients quickly, but I would rather hear it referred to as the active ingredients and then I can go on the label and figure out what has what. That’s just my two cents. Please don’t take that as anything but positive feedback. Also, I’m wondering if you have put together any type of plan for cool season grasses that someone could purchase. I do six applications here in zone 6A and I’m just curious what the best Way to do it is if I am willing to spend more on my products., I hear people leaving stuff out because certain things are too expensive. But, if I’m willing to spend the extra money to make sure that my lawns are weed free. I’m wondering if, you have it in writing anywhere where I can study what you think. Thanks again.

I am using Tenacity and are going to make my 3rd application. Should i thatch/Aerate 1st then apply more? I still need to overseed these plants are really aggressive i also scalped the lawn 1st and bagged. Will the crabgrass plans need to be picked out over the winter or does it matter?

I just wrote a short novel and deleted it I’ll try to be concise. I love the Chemistry you make easy to understand the whiteboard the ability and courage to call bullshit and put out scams educating viewer and Waze no other lawn care channel has even come close to being able to replicate. So I humbly offer one piece of constructive criticism to further such a part in the lawn care genre. In a video like this one, why not explain the side effects (if any) we can expect to see where these products contact our desirable grass. Getting to the point specifically the bleaching of tenacity and the bleaching is the most under explained side effect orWith many channels making videos not even mentioning at all that tenacity will bleach. Let me be clear I have had a white lawn for 1/4 of the entire season, And I have 2 1/2 years cool season long experience with the product and The 8 ounce rate is the rate that works also the max rate but even 6 ounces takes so long to grow out that if it’s applied in late summer or early fall when the grass is growing slower you’re gonna have white grass until the spring and when the snow melts the grass is still Completely white in color. Also if you were just need to know that it’s not just grows out immediately the grass continues to grow wait for a long time yes new grass coming out of the ground is still wait for a long time if even seen small patches of turf fescue white after a few mows Into spring, or Kentucky bluegrass spread and the emerging brand new Rison of grass is white the following spring. Viewers need to know that the grass is going to be white for a long time Which looks awful and absolutely without a doubt in every way possible outweighs the benefits I’ve ever gotten using it as a post emergent. Pre-emergent when putting down seed I love even at low rates it’s wonderful and the white grass is gone quick But an affective no channel educate viewers about how bad it is literally a joke I swear the company must’ve done a huge marketing campaign in 1999 because every channel is repeating what the other channel said making the product seem like the best thing ever yeah I suspect they never even tried the product before making the video because they certainly don’t show before and after results. I I do notice you made Tenacity is a scam video,thank you. In summary consider including negative side effects of products on our good grass when you’re explaining everything other channels don’t discuss, like different tiller stages relating to variable modalities and efficacy of products and (love to geek out) at various pH rates and on and on more metric please and all that other really cool science stuff we love about your channel.

MSMA will chem burn it, but you’re looking at two treatments minimum about a week apart. If you hit it one time it will discolor and bounce back. Not at big box stores and roughly $99 to $130.

For sod farms and pro turf, I don't believe for residential. The label should clear it up. I believe they held the residential label because of the duration of bleaching being so long

Ive looked all over the web and cant find anything useful, but you know everything so here I am. What effects do root growth inhibitors have on rhizomes. Specifically something like prodiamine on torpedograss. Im looking to do some research for experimenting with selective herbicide cocktails that attack torpedo with multiple modes of action at once. Like playing with ratios of prodiamine, Monument, and Dismiss NXT. and maybe a touch of glysophate at low enough levels that it would be fine for turfgrass but aid in fighting a damaged torpedo.

I’m not sure I’d be able to work around that no cutting the grass two days before and two days after for Quinchlorac that only leaves three days out of the week to put it down and if you have a five day route, that’s two days where somebody’s getting the chloric at the wrong time. Also, the amount of coordination that would take to, get on the same page with the homeowners just isn’t worth it.
@TheGrassFactor
@TheGrassFactor 3 ай бұрын
@@molemaverick for sure, that's why I think pylex is a better choice these days. It's spendy, but the cost per acre is relatively low, requires lower use rates, more flexible timing, and more consistent results.
@molemaverick
@molemaverick 3 ай бұрын
@@TheGrassFactor, so, is pylex a brand name? I get all my stuff at Site One, but I’ve never seen that there. Do you get your stuff at Site One or do you order off of Amazon?
@molemaverick

@@TheGrassFactor, wow that pylex sure is spendy. Looks like it comes with a syringe. $125 an ounce is insane. Can you use that for spot spraying. Also, can you mix that with triclooyr? I know you have to be careful of the temperature when using an esther, but I’d like something that kills broadleaf weeds, as well as problem grasses
