I’m starting roof sales the same. Worked as a volunteer EMT and part time massage therapist and somehow didn’t get paid enough. Just got hired this month to BCR and I’m so excited but I feel so confrontational talking to people about their roofs even though they need roofs. This is an empowering job especially since I’ve always been soft spoken. Ready to find my shout!!

The sales activities are those that generate new leads: Door knocking, leave behind letters, direct mail letters, cold calls, follow ups, asking for referrals, relationships building, connecting with insurance agents etc. In terms of getting dark -- you can still knock in the dark -- just set the appointment to come back for the inspection :)

I feel like a rat in a maze I knock the doors and I run out of doors before I've gotten a sale. Then I zoom around looking for more and it's just a battle I go home after 4 hours of knocking completely defeated. No gas no money no leads nothing just a bunch of no. Then I finally get on a roof and it's completely fine. There's no wind or hail damage. Why? I have such bad luck I can't over come it with out very high numbers but I can't find enough doors to knock.
