And remember, the person spraying should have water resistant gloves, long sleeves and probably respiratory protection. We don't hear about the dangers of herbicides and other chemicals for decades after the damage is already done and lives are ruined.

I heard this is most effective mid to late summer When the trees leaves are feeding the roots to take the herbicide down and kill the roots also.

Will this work on mulberry and the heavenly trees. Also what if a mulberry is growing next to lilacs, will it hurt them?

Yes it will work. Just be careful with your herbicide and keep it off the lilac and you should be fine.

Cutting lots of trees and shrubs above the ground and they will come back from the roots with multiple stems. This is sucked down into the roots and kills the whole plant.

rancher Mike No, If the herbicide is mixed accurately and applied appropriately it will kill the tree and there will be no stump sprouts. Hope this helps!

Best to cut and spray in fall or early winter so that the sap is going down to the roots and the tree doesn't come out of dormancy the next year.

BRENT WESTBROOKS It is just glyphosate and water with a purple dye so you can keep track of what trees you have sprayed. When it is freezing conditions, you can also use Garlon with a oil based carrier to prevent freezing.

@@brianr1165 Glyphosate is the active ingredient in round up, so any hardware or farm store will have it. You can also buy it in a more concentrated form at those stores and mix it yourself. The mixing rate for killing trees would be about 3oz per gallon of water.

well it'd take a lot of 'umans to apply erbicides if its a 'eavy infestation. But as long as meets 'igh expectations then it is Ok. (The English dictionary never had a silent h in herbicide so I thought I could apply to every h)
