Major depression has prevented me from moving forward for 5 years. Every time I think I’m getting somewhere, I fall into flashbacks from mental abuse situations in the past. I keep being shown why I hate myself in my memories, but even knowing this all came from abusive upbringing, I still can’t change the beliefs for longer than a week or 2 at a time.

I’m in a very similar situation. Wishing you all the best.
@dieuquynh2271Ай бұрын
hey my experience was somewhat similar to yours. Often times when I'm in the middle of the flows learning something, the flashbacks of childhood trauma started to pop up and haunted my mind. They sometimes got too bad that I can't help but shedding tears for 30 mins-ish in the middle of my study. It felt terrible especially when you are in the public library, and people started noticing while you can't holding your tears up. A way out I figured out recently is through journaling, writing to the universe that I choose to forgive ALL of them. Forgive people (listing them all out), scene, environment, literally everything that causes, especially the PEOPLE. Jot down sincerely when I finally decided to forgive them. So every time the trauma popping up, I say it to myself: "but I forgive them already, I totally forgive them. Those images are obsolete now. I said it and mean it! I TRULY forgive them". then started to think of the note i made as sincere commitment of forgiveness, then the thought just fading away, days brighten up and I can keep on going like nothing. easy come (and less in frequency) easy go i hope this help to anyone out there suffering, wish you a live of yours.

Maybe that means facing these memories and working on healing from them with a therapist. It's not easy but it's not impossible either. Then eventually when you get to a point of making peace with the past, you can detach from the past and rebuild. Easier said than done, but still not impossible. I hope you find healing someday

Purpose and Reason are two important pillars to support a person. The past must be accepted. Journal each morning. Write down the challenges for the day and brainstorm solutions and then implement. Also see a doctor about your hormones such as testosterone. Get treated if necessary. Hormones unbalanced can make a person unmotivated and foggy, weak feelings and anxiety. Good luck but only You can improve You

Brother I'm 24 and I've been lost and aware of the fact and of death for too long. Always felt under the bar, like I could never do enough bc everything I did was for nothing. I lived a lot of life without purpose, at the same time I clung too much at the fact that I had no purpose and I deprived myself of the experience of life because of it. I may be only 5+ years younger, but I have been through much and experienced a lot, but I have a lot more to do, and I will probably be asking the same question in another 5 years. It's okay to be lost, you first have to be lost to find your way again.

It’s just saying you have to overcome your weaknesses and flaws that hold you back with courage, determination, temperance, integrity, so on and so forth. Life doesn’t beat you down, it’s how you react to it. In essence only you have tha power to destroy yourself, and thus to allow that is tha worst thing we could ever do to ourselves… Or something like that…..
@gantneba2 ай бұрын
@@BulldozerTheDon in other words: Discipline yourself. If you have bad habits you are doing those out of habit (obviously) but the point is: not out of intention. So you could say a lack of discipline. But seeing a habit as bad is relative. Some habits may be harmful, but give you joy, it is for you to decide if you intentionally do them or let it get to the point that you don't really know that you are doing them, as stated: getting "conquered by thyself".

Wild fires dont usually burn down the forest. A healthy forest getting burned usually just clears the dead plant matter and plants that would compete with the old trees. The healthy and robust saplings will survive and grow. This is how truly ancient forests can form.

I like the idea of letting go of parts of yourself holding you back. One big one is limiting, negative self talk instead of just owning and being honest about what my goals are. An example would be oh I just ride for fun and don't really care about my race results etc. when really I do. It always gives you an out when you don't achieve your goals. Instead of being honest and possibly failing. It's a subtle way to be mediocre at everything. I'm letting that one go and just be honest about my true goals.

I've gone through this process in the last few years, and I can say that I feel like a completely different person now. The memories that used to bring me shame don't have that effect on me anymore, it's like the memories of someone else. The old habits and vices that used to trap don't even feel appealing to me anymore. Gratitude is essential to any transformation along with true forgiveness of the pain and actions of others we experienced. Intention is critical in the transfer of all energy. Negative intentions begets negative results. Positive intention begets positive results - very elementary mental conditioning. Suggestion: Start at night before bedtime and write down 3 things you are grateful for in a daily journal. You will be amazed how powerful this nightly exercise promotes wellness, peace and mental harmony. Blessings & healing to all!

This worked for me so this is my GIFT to you and anyone reading this.. These suggestions have made me the person I am today. So take one or two or all of them and transform yourself to a super being. Thank me later. I personally did and do everything listed below and I got massive results. 1. Write out a statement of your Short Term Goal AND your Chief Aim/Main Goal... on a "goal card" or paper. 2. Write it out 50 times a day for 30 days preferably around the same time each day. After the 30 days, you go back and write it out ONCE a day. This is your compass in life. 3. Set your phone alarm to go off every 3 hours (to disrupt your daily routine) and when it goes off write down your statement and then close your eyes and see yourself with your goal for 2 mins. 4. Record your statement in your voice on a voice recorder on your phone, and play it back to yourself on loop while you sleep and as often as you can daily, example... in the shower or when you are using the rest room. 5. Find an accountability partner. If you cannot find someone, then you MUST write out your statement DAILY. By doing this you make yourself accountable to YOURSELF. 6. Find a community or FB group/group chat, etc and from that community form a Mastermind with one or two people who have studied from REAL Mentors and are giving VALUE. There is a "Law of Giving" and many people are using it. Andrew Carnegie told Napoleon Hill this back in the early 1900s. Its a LAW and it works. Its what I am doing with this post. 7. Auto-Suggest (Think and Grow Rich Chapter 4) to yourself in front of the mirror in the bathroom at least twice a day. Look directly INTO your eyes OR one eye and recite your WRITTEN statement. Then splash cold water on your face. This sudden shock seals the thought into the subconscious due to emotional and physical shock from the cold water. 8. Write out ten "I AM" statements a day. example. I AM happy, I AM more confident. Use the word MORE; implying you already have it, but want more. You trick the brain. 9. Write out 5 things you HAVE that you are grateful for and 5 things that you are grateful for that are coming to you. Mix up the list one after the other. 10. When in public tell people you see that you love them in your mind. Simply say "I LOVE YOU" to them as you pass them, especially when driving, because their subconscious hears and FEELS the intention. Say it to about 10 to 15 people daily. This increases your Good Karma. It might seem like a lot. But it took me less than two weeks to incorporate the list into my life and 32 days later I started getting massive results. What have you got to lose, try some or ALL and see your results. Let me know know too. Have a great day... and thanks for reading.

Do you lack the ability or do you just not know where to start? If the latter, find one bad habit of yours and try to replace it with a good habit (eg. If you smoke, any time you step out for a smoke break do 10 push-ups instead)
@denis32082 ай бұрын
You change things by changing how you see and feel about them. For example people can't stop smoking because they see themselves as smokers, but what if they started doing a sport couple of times a week and started viewing themselves as sportsman ? Does sportsman smoke ? Also connected smoking with something repulsive to you, would you still smoke if you saw smoking like that repulsive thing ?

Be aware; this is one of many ways to self-improvement, and arguably one of the hardest. If you want to do this method, it’s unlikely you’ll succeed without some kind of experience that basically forces you to confront your old self. Psychedelic trips, religious experiences, trauma etc. I would say it’s probably better to make little adjustments to begin with, that align with the person you want to be. Then once you’ve actually started being consistent, come back to this method.
