Welcome to the Super Kite Day How to Kite Land Board Tutorial!
It's finally here, the full free video. It took a lot of time to get this ready but here it is. Share it with your friends, get them into kiteboarding too. I made this video to help people learn and benefit from this free video, but please remember this is not a substitute for kiteboarding lessons with a qualified instructor. Kite Landboarding is a dangerous sport so please take great care. Practice with a trainer kite and read the manual. Get lessons from a kiteschool and your progression will be much faster and safer. This video is only a guide and you can't beat a lesson with a real instructor in the real conditions.

Hi Abe and first of all thanks for a great tutorial. I was wondering, why do you use the "back harness" in combination with mountaineering type of harness to prevent it slide up. Is there a good reason why not to use just "sitting harness" alone?
@ABESuperKiteDay
@ABESuperKiteDay 8 жыл бұрын
+LittleLightCZ Im really glad you liked the video. Donate to the making of it if it helped you a lot. As for why I use a climbing harness and a waist harness its because the climbing harness stopped the waist harness from riding up my chest which is annoying and the reason I dont use a seat harness is because they have no spinal support. Hope that helps dude.

@@SimpleSouls if you buy a cheap trainer kite you can teach yourself a lot. But anything over 2.5m in high wind you got to start being careful and knowing what you are doing. That's when lessons come in when you start using 7m or 10m size kites. You really dont need a lot of power to get going especially on snow. But definitely get lessons at some point but learn from a good instructor if you can find one. Preferably one that does landkite snowkite and kitesurf. Good luck finding one that qualified

@@SimpleSouls flysurfer.com/project/peak3/ this kite is great for snowkite and land kite but not for kitesurfing. It's much cheaper and you can do awesome stuff with a peak. I personally prefer the Flysurfer Soul foil kites for snowkite land kite and kitesurf. People mostly use LEI leading edge inflatable for kitesurfing but if your only doing snowkite then aim for foil kites.

Yeah this video was a mission to make without the narration tbh. I did not get paid for this project and it took just under 2 years to get it to this stage when I was busy at uni. I wish I could have narrated the whole thing. But it would have delayed it and I was worried my old pc was going to crash before finishing the edit. Best thing to do is pay for lessons with a good instructor. This video is just a guide to show what's involved. There is a really good 'How to Snowkite' tutorial on KZbin for free. That's the next best thing after 'kitesurf college' channel who narrates all his videos. Thanks for the feedback though. We just didnt have the funding to max out the production on this. Which part did you like the most ? Thanks again, ride safe and wishing you good winds and super kite days.

I'm very sorry for the audio. I originally wanted to narrate this whole video but could not get the support and it was a huge task, it took 2 years to edit to this stage in my own time. I could not spend any more resources on this video and just had to upload it. I even got a copyright claim even though I had permission from the artist after 6 months of being online but he sampled another artist without telling me. I wanted to remove this video and finish it and do it right because there is no video tutorial like this online. I never got to even keep the kites. I suggest getting a bigger phone or watching on PC. Also don't rush into training alone. You can get seriously hurt doing kite land boarding. Always get lessons but only if you can find someone crazy enough to teach kitelandboarding. Good luck 😎👍

The wind was about 18mph that day with the 10m LEI which was good for an average rider. But never use kites too big for the wind on water and especially on snow.

I live the Fraser Valley, B.C, Canada, have an average of 10-30km/h winds (up to 40) and im 6'3 150 lbs solid. I'm eyeing an 11m kite, would this be fit for me? Also, Im curious if you can do it in the rain (as there's plenty here!)

+Adam Faria Hi dude, thanks a lot. Im really glad you enjoyed this video. It took me a very long time to film and edit. I exhausted a lot of resources to make this video free online on youtube. I was going to sell it originally. Feel free to donate if it saved you time, money and a lot of pain hahahaha. www.paypal.me/SuperKiteDayTutorial Kitelandboarding is great, you dont have to worry about tides or quality of snow. You can ride all day if you have wind and a good spot and a GOOD kite. Its very important to get a good kite dude... good gear = good time. The key is getting a good kite. Don't buy old crap on ebay, these are 'kitemare' kitre. Its a dangerous and expensive sport so you always want to minimise the risk. Only highly experienced and skilled riders could ride old kites (pre 2009) and even they will struggle so for a beginner its a disaster waiting to happen. lol I know people that have bought goods gear and ride safe and are still doing it today. I also know people who bought on ebay and as a result got bad faulty dangerous gear and got injured too. I trained for 2 years with a trainer kite, so when i got a real D-power kite i knew exactly how a wind window worked and more. But I watched a lot of tutorials and never found anything free or good. I learned a lot from pro riders too and implemented my own techniques too into this tutorial. I was trained by the head of BKSA training too so I was very lucky. I always ride safe and use good new gear, it cost a lot but im still having super kite days today. So think really hard about what you buy. Remember some pro riders can make bad kites look good. Buy a viron2DLX 6m or 8m. I think 8m for you. This kite is very safe and you can progress mega fast. It can be used on snow water and land (even in rain but wind must be good for that). Dont buy a LEI and train on land first time unless wind is mega mega light; even then thats dangerous, you will for sure get hurt unless you get lessons first from a good school who is qualified and up to date with all there certificates. Ask them if they snowkite or land kite too, if they dont then they wont know jack about foil kites. All kites will say there brand is the best, some will say completely different things that others say. You have to decide yourself dude, I am very honest and give good advice with SKD. I have tested many brands and I always find problems with something. I only like Flysurfer and Ozone. I used to ride Ozone originally but then i got my speed3 then 4 and the rest was history. I was really happy with the Flysurfer kites, super safe, super easy, they WORK!!! ;)

+ABE SuperKiteDay Again, thank you SOOO very much. I have so much appreciation and respect for you. Your hard work did not go un-noticed! Is there another method other than paypal for donating? And yeah you never win when you cheap out. And do you need a long period of time with a trainer kite, or are lessons and mountainboard experience enough? The Viron2 deluxe looks amazing, was looking at that right after i originally commented. After countless hours of researching/deciding, I will most likely get this one. thank you so much again for your help! It's not easy making an expensive decision like kiteboarding when you have all the different sizes and prices etc.
@ABESuperKiteDay
@ABESuperKiteDay 8 жыл бұрын
+Adam Faria You can find good deals sometimes, you might get a really good rider who looks after his gear and only used his kites for 6-12 months and wants to sell because he wants the new next years model. I trained for 2 years with a 3m kite on handles not a bar, then I wanted more power so I got a 10m dpower kite. But if you got a 8m viron dpower kite you would progress much much faster than I did and be safer too. You can also keep that kite in your quiver for nuking wind days. For your next kite after training with the 8m viron you could get a speed 4 louts 12m or even a 15m depending on how well your training is. Dont buy a big kite if you only have strong winds at your spot. Normally a rider will have a quiver of 7m, 10m, 12m. But for me I use 10m, 12m, 15m and 18m. (I have a 6m viron2dlx for teaching people too). umm you dont need a paypal account to donate. But your kind words of support and appreciation are priceless.

+ABE SuperKiteDay That's super helpful, thank you. I wont bug you anymore, i only have one question.After doing more studying, my yearly average wind speed is 17 km/h and it rarely reaches no more than 30-ish km/h. I am wondering if the Peak2 9m for its low-end capability, and similar ease of use, would be one other option? And what kind of suspension do you use for your boards, loose or tight?

This video is beyond superb! Massive thanks for making this available, your instruction will definitely help me get started safely when my first depower kite arrives next week! Question for you: what tires are you using in this video? I have an MBS Colt 90 with T1 tires and find they sink a bit in soft sand. Your tires look really flat and I'm guessing they'll work better for sand.

I use MBS T3. They are the best for grip! Thanks a lot dude glad you like the video, feel free to support this project. Link in description. Congrats on the new kite, take it easy first few times and go only in light winds, ride safe and have a super kite day.
