Have you noticed a marked difference in how band heel socks fit, compared to more traditional heel flap & gusset socks? BTW, I work a toe-up sock toe very much like your band heels, but with increases instead.

dukeofpurl great question! Believe it or not, I'm actually in the process of working up samples of different heel and toe shapes to compare fit and show my students when I teach sock knitting. The band heel has a little more fabric across the back of the heel than a traditional flap/gusset. So, folks with a wider heel may prefer the fit of a band heel. (I think it looks prettier too.)

Anthony Inger Hmm... I'm sure it must be possible to do a toe up version, but I've never tried. Sounds like a great topic for another video, though. It might be awhile, but I'll work on it.

If you knit appropriately sized socks for your feet (generally 5-10% smaller than your foot in circumference and length) there shouldn't be any issues with slipping.
