A few tips I'm adding on for beginners: #1 If you're a crocheter, continental style is way easier. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in both knitting and crochet learn to crochet first. Get comfortable with crochet, then you'll be able to switch to continental easily (FYI, continental is the fastest, most efficient form of knitting). #2 If you've never knit anything before, don't let this be your first pattern (especially if what she's saying sounds like a foreign language to you). Buy some cheap yarn from Hobby Lobby or Michael's and knit yourself a chunky cowl/scarf as practice. Watching knitting videos on KZbin while you're working up your first project. Continue to work up projects in less expensive yarn until you're really happy with your knitting and confident you can tackle this sweater. I think this is a good sweater for your first *sweater* but not for your first ever project. With a cowl/scarf, any mistakes you make won't be super noticeable like they will on a sweater. #3 Kara has a knack for making super cute, trendy patterns. All of her patterns are really great and you should definitely check them out. But if you use the same chunky yarn that she uses, your wallet will be crying (mine is on strike right now). Take advantage of the yarn substituions she has listed to try and find something more affordable if you need to. Sometimes you'll need to hold yarn double or triple to get the right consistency. The great thing about buying one of her patterns is that you can use it again and again with different types of yarn until you find your favorite. Good luck!!

When shaping the neckline, how do you continue knitting the shoulders after binding off the middle stitches without varying your working yarn across the hole of the neck? Do you need to work from two balls of yarn? Or knit one shoulder at a time and just pickup working yarn when coming back to the second shoulder?

Hi, I am confused at the point where you knit the back v the front , it looks like you are using one set of circular needles but have you placed the stitches for the front on hold on separate needles?

I usually just leave some stitches on hold on the same set, you can move them to another set of needles, but I’m too lazy to find another set usually
