Great to hear, Ben! I'm curious, 🤔do you ever knit anything for yourself?
@benelkins92063 жыл бұрын
@@nobleknits Haha! Not so much.. I do have a collection of hats, scarfs, afghans, et cetera... But I really enjoy gifting my knitting to family and friends! “Spread the Love”. I do have a goal of knitting a pair of mittens for myself...but haven’t gotten to it yet!😛 It gets cold here in Chicago!

@@nobleknits Heard!! - I bought the yarn yesterday after planning out the project. XL basket weave knitted mittens in a two color beige/brown! It’s a 8 row repeat pattern that I’m so excited to perform! Thanks for the “push” NobleKnits!! 👍

Hi there! Google recommended your video. I love the alternative to the shawl tab cast on and the stretchy bind off tips as those are always rubbish for me. This looks like a great project! Thank you!

Nancy, you and your daughter sparkle super fabulicious!!! Love your generous teaching content. You make the world a better place!! Just came home from a long dog walk, +10 here in Southern Ontario, the sun is out - and so is the yarn and needles - great day to get started on a shawl!!!

Hi, and thank you for this video ! It's not my first time on your channel (I have made your triangular shawl before and it was a work of art!). I tried this pattern with a twist : instead of casting on 8, I cast on 16, then, for the set up row I did : k2 marker * yo purl yo (repeat until 2 more stitches to go) * marker k2 . I then continued exactly in the same way that you taught us here and I got an actual circle (which I then sewed the way that you showed us, with the extra wool from the center). It's actually really really cool, so thank you

How Beautiful and yet simple! Most of the Pi shawls have very complicated lace patterns and while I love the shape, that is a level of knitting I am not at yet. I have one question, instead of knitting this in garter stitch could it be done in stockinette stitch with the same premise? I am thinking of one for someone who has a skin condition and she finds the feel of the garter stitch bothers her.
@nobleknits3 жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara, I haven't knitted a stockinette half-pi shawl in a very long time so I can't remember if the rows to stitches ratio is the same. Here are a number of other Half-Pi shawls you can check out: blog.nobleknits.com/blog/pi-shawl-knitting-patterns

This is really a lovey variation for the shawl! Thank you for the pattern. I wondered if I could use MANDALA or WOOL EASE yarn that is DK WEIGHT and a size 9 - 60 in circular needle. I have been trying to use items that I already have. I imagine there will be a difference in the weight of the shawl. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks!
@nobleknits3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sylvia, Great question! DK weight yarn will be lovely for this project. Use the needle size recommended on the yarn label or one to two sizes up to give it a nice drape. Other than that, just follow the pattern and happy knitting! 😀

Thank you for your fab tutorial. Two questions if I may. The shawl your daughter was showcasing, what was the actual name of the lion Brand landscapes yarn? Lastly did you use size 8mm needles as the stitches looks tighter on the video? Thank you.

Thank you so much for the pattern, I will be making with the same yarn and im very excited. If I wanted to make it bigger how would I go about doing that?
@nobleknits3 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you are looking forward to starting this project! I worked my shawl until I had 96 increases. I stopped after knitting about 60 rows after that but you will keep knitting until you've finished 96 rows. Then you will have another increase row. This one will be 192 increases followed by 192 rows of knitting. If you want to keep going after that, the next increase will have 384 increases followed by 384 rows of knitting.

@@nobleknits thank you sooo much for the reply and making this pattern free so that everybody can enjoy the beauty of this shawl. Your very generous and sweet 💕 This will be a mourning shawl that I can go to when I need a hug. My grandmother just passed away from stage 4 cancer and Im finding it so hard to get over her being gone so this will keep my mind busy. Thank you again for your generosity. All the best to you.

@@sarahjoshi927 I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. I lost my mother to cancer as well. I gathered up some of my favorite photos of my mom to glance at as I knit and I tried to fill my mind with my best memories of her. I found knitting provided so much comfort after her passing and I hope you find that as well. 😘
