Free Easy Cowl Knitting Pattern . I knit my January Cowl for my year of cowls.
100g 4ply/fingering yarn , 3mm needles
Cast on 154 Stitches
Join in the round, place start marker
ROW 1 - KNIT
ROW 2 - PURL
Repeat total 10 rows
Row 11 - knit
Row 12 - Knit 18 , Purl 4 repeat to end of row
Row13 - Knit
Reapeat Rows 12 & 13 for 11cm
Next section
Purl 3 Rows
Knit 6 Rows
Repear last 2 rows for 11cm
Next section
Knit every row for 11cm

I love this cowl so much, I cast one on, but I was wondering: if I didn’t want it to curl on top, what could I do? Wouldn’t it also look nice if I continued with the knit 18, purl 4 for the whole thing?

If you carry on in the pattern it will still roll. To stop it rolling either end with a rib (1 ×1 , 2x2, 1x2 etc knit x purl) or garter stitch ( knit row , purl row repeat ) happy knitting

You could but you would have to rewrite the pattern . 2 knit rows make stockinette stitch in the round , garter stitch in the round , it's not the same . I suggest you give knitting in the round a go . It's really easy . Take a look at some tutorials on KZbin x
