I'm a knitter/crocheter and have TONS of yarn. I have everything from acrylic to wool to alpaca - so I'm no snob! But I've realized at my age that I'll never get to it unless I step it up somehow. So I've known about these machines for a few years and was going to get them last year (or the year before) but there was a run on them or supply chain issues, etc. I've been watching a lot of videos and went ahead today and ordered the 22, 40 and 48 inch machines.I have lots of grandkids and 3 live in snow country so I really want to make hats and earbands. I was really intrigued with the idea of knitting a sock but I think if I were to do it, I would skip the heel and just make a tube or pick up the stitches and knit the heel. Thanks for making this and showing what you can make on these machines!

Yes agree with you re knit the heel and also pick up the top with a circular needle and do 1X or 2X rib before casting off.

Socks are a challenge. I learned sock knitting by hand it's not easy took me a few tries to get short rows correct for heel and toes. Good for you for trying. If you have a circular knitting loom try on that first then go to the knit machine. I have made socks on knit loom also. You'll get it 👍

Yeah! As long at the yarn isn't too thick, you can double strand. Usually I'll work with a 2 or 3 weight double stranded in this machine because otherwise the fabric can be a little thin. Oh my gosh lol please do be careful!

You could also skip the toe and heel bit and make yoga socks and simply crochet all those seams thank u for the tutorial and in case anyone was concerned if the stitches between the knits and crochet don’t blend you could also just use the same color yarn I think she used the different color yarn more for clarity in the tutorial but this is great

@InfinitiCraftingCo Жыл бұрын
Hi! I usually don't recommend a fingering weight because the resulting fabric is super thin. If you do want to use it though, I'd suggest using a double or triple strand.

Are you familiar with knitting socks? Usually, you start with the shaft that goes up your leg, and you knit in rounds. This is what she starts out doing. After that comes the heel, where you only knit a certain amount of stitches going back and forth. Then you knit in rounds again for the part that covers your foot, and eventually you do decreases to get the tip for the toe. The knitting machine has two settings, one for rounds (tube) and back and forth rows (plain). She switches between these modes to create an opening at the heel where she then can manually insert a heel cap.

Addi knitting machine! It’s from Germany I believe
@HJKelley472 жыл бұрын
@@maxmiller5431 : Plus, the fact that the Addi cost significantly more! Current price for the Addi with 22 needles runs from $91 (machine only) to $149 (the one with pattern book& extra needles), Sentro with 22 needles currently cost $36.99. I own the Addi King & 22 needle Addi, as well as the Sentro 48 needle. Yes, I like my Sentro, but the Addi is honestly a better made machine, however, the Sentro does the job and I have made several winter cowls and baby blanket with the Sentro. Preparing to make a gingham blanket with the 48 needle Sentro. If you plan on making many projects or becoming an entrepreneur than save for the Addi. If you plan on doing occasional hobby level knitting, then go for the Sentro. One thing for sure, you can use the Sentro to learn the art of circular machine knitting, while saving for the Addi for your birthday!
