Thank you for sharing your pattern! I'm a beginner and this and after three videos of this Basketweave Stitch, I found yours to be the most easy of them all and explained it from the start and how to calculate the amount of stitches!

to knit a blanket doing squares how many stitches for one square and how many rows to do.
@KnitItOutVancity8 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathleen! It all depends on how big you'd like it to be. You need to knit a swatch with needles and yarn you'd like to use. Knit a square of 4"x4". You'll then count how many stitches you have in 1" and how many rows in 1" too. Determine how big you'd like the blanket to be and multiply by the number you got on the swatch. Got it? ;)

Cast on multiples of 8 + 5? So if I did 2 multiples of 8... I would cast 14 + another 5? So 19 stitches total??
@KnitItOutVancity5 жыл бұрын
So 8 + 8 is 16 plus 5 makes 21. Cast on 21 sts! :)

how many stitches for a scarf :)
@KnitItOutVancity10 жыл бұрын
Hi Alaa! It all depends on how long the scarf will be. You'd need to knit a swatch to check your gauge and multiply the number of stitches per inch for the inches the scarf will be. Than just make sure you cast on a multiple of 5+8! =) I hope that helps!

This doesn't make any sense to me. I casted on 26 stitches, because 5+8=13, and 13×2=26. But, I'm not sure if that is even correct? When I attempt to repeat the pattern, I end up with only 2 stitches at the end, instead of 5? So, I'm guessing you mean 5×8? But, that is 40, and you definitely don't have 40 stitches on your needle.
@WatchHeadsRoll6 жыл бұрын
8×8=64, so it definitely isn't that!
@gabriellethomas20626 жыл бұрын
@@WatchHeadsRoll its 8 x Number = Answer.....Answer + 5 = Stitches cast. Example: 8x5=40...40+5=45 stitches cast. Essentially, any number divisible by 8, plus 5
@loving1109956 жыл бұрын
Cast on a multiple of 8... So.. 8,16,24,32,40,48,56, etc Then add 5 more stitches to the end of that.. If you have 8 ,add 5 you'll have 13. Or if you have 16, add 5. You'll have 21, if you have 24, add 5 and you will have 29

+Vercippu Hi! Thanks for your comment. In order to follow along you need the written instruction which I always put in the video description. Otherwise it does seem like a fast video. It's not that fast if you think about it. Please refer to the video description for the written pattern. Thanks and I hope that helps. ;)

Your written pattern is good But the colour you choose in the video doesn't bring out the pattern. Secondly your camera focus does not reveal your pattern. In short can't see the pattern
