Thank you for the demostration,very helpful.For all those who complain about the speed and for how she holds the yarn ,please learn how to knit and purl first and then look out for fancy stitches! And for those who think that their way of knitting is better,guess what, everybody has their own way to do so!There is no need to be rude.Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Cheers from Italy

Hi there. Just came across this video trying to learn something new even though I've been knitting for almost 40 years. I was a little taken aback by all the yarn wrapping you constantly do whilst knitting. I don't know if it is because you are left-handed (it appears that way watching the video) or because taught it to you this way. I can assure you that it is not necessary to knit in such a laborious and time-consuming way. Indeed I knit much faster, whilst keeping the yarn, which will form the new stitch, firmly wrapped around my left index finger. Furthermore, the same yarn is fed through from my left index finger, winds through the rest of my fingers of my left hand to maintain proper tension, and that yarn then comes from a ball of wool, which I usually keep in a small container to allow it to move whilst keeping it clean. I know we knitters probably all have our little quirks, but most people want to learn how to knit in a time-efficient way. Please don't be offended, as I only mean well and don't want to upset anyone.
@KnitItOutVancity8 жыл бұрын
Hi Susanne! Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I was, for some reason, having a hard time on this specific video on holding my yarn properly. I apologize for the distraction. It is indeed quite a pain to watch that. I am not left-handed though. LOL - I've improved my ways but I still need to wrap the yarn around my fingers so I get good tension. I guess each knitter has her own style. I've tried practicing Continental style too to knit faster but it's just too weird for my hands! LOL - anyways, I appreciate the feedback. It wasn't my best video I agree. But the other ones are nicer! =) take care!

+Kim Galea Hi Kim! So you'd start the row count again, which means you will work row 1: K1,P1... Don't think as row 5, think that you work 4 rows and start at row 1 again, that way you always keep track of which row you are! Does that make sense? I hope it helps. Thanks

@KnitItOutVancity7 жыл бұрын
juliet bumstead hi! Yes! You go back to row 1 and start all over again. When you see in pattern “repeat these x rows” that means you work all the rows and start again on row 1, unless the pattern says otherwise! 😉 hope that helps! Don’t hesitate in contacting me if you have any other question!

You can slow down the video on the settings at the right lower corner. You can also speed up slower videos.

This is so fast and all the winding and unwinding of the yarn is really distracting :(

I agree with a few people on here, your twirling the wool round your finger in totally unnecessary and gets in the way of us seeing where the wool is or should be going

+Barbara Scott Hi! I apologize for it but I can't help it since it's how I learned to hold my yarn. There's simply no other way I can do this. I appreciate the feedback! =)

I love the pattern but you're going too fast while teaching.
