Did you purchase it like that or did you dismantle a plastic palette and build the box around it? I would like to do the same as I have a workshop to do it in. BTW both of your books have arrived and i thoroughly enjoyed reading them. I expect i will be reading them many times. Thanks, Gordon Ringius

Thanks Gordon. The palette I used in this video is over 50 years old - unfortunately they are no longer available. I’ve never seen one like it. I think only a few were made. It is essentially plastic wells insets encased in hard wood. The white flap is Formica, a cover used in the UK for kitchen tops. I’m sure you could produce something similar utilising a cheap plastic palette, as long as it isn’t too heavy. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Thanks a lot! These motives are scary and I always end up making a mess. Feel really inspired now and will try again!

All my paint is Winsor and Newton watercolour paint. There is a video which covers all the materials I use on my website. Scroll through the videos at www.andrewpitt.co.uk or go to my KZbin channel.

This was a great video about simplifying a busy scene. Could you in the future touch on the composition of the painting and why you chose it. Maybe why it works as opposed to not working? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for getting in touch. I have to say I’m not strong on composition. It is mainly instinct and composing using the way I paint forms. I’ll do my best. www.andrewpitt.co.uk

@@AndrewPittArtist I'm the same exact way lately, I completely understand. I focus more on the (portrait) of the subject rather than the "picture". Thank you, I appreciate the response. Your'e a great instructor, enjoying the videos.

The painting is attractive whereas the actual scene is messy.
