This helps answer my question exceptionally well! You buy stuff to keep doors open for shifting comps later. You didn't mention exactly why but I get that you had Lulu for a moment, anticipating a possible Yuumi Mascot/Heart addition, then when that was off the table, you sold her. I could follow your decision making much better here, but I'm still confused by the Kai'Sa, Jax, Vayne buy at 30:55. Does that influence the shop in some way?

yes, but only slightly. Because there is a fixed amount of every unit in the champion pool, buying units of the same cost as the one you are looking for slightly increases the chance of finding what you are looking for. the change so extremely negligible however that lead developer of the game 'mortdog' argues it is not worth doing as it will mostly just waist your time so you can do less on your turn rather than actually help you get more units, and while i mostly agree, it is a habit that i and many players still have but it is most definitely not a trick worth learning or focusing on for new or low ranked players

Man I clicked this as somebody who has played literally 4 games and it’s like your speaking a different language lol.. I’m sure I’ll learn, but my problem is I only get like 15 seconds it feel between fights to try and right click everything in the shop and see all their stats, but by the time I do that, the next fights already started! 😂 I just don’t feel like I have enough time to learn the units. My first few games have basically just been… well this guy is the same unit type as this guy, so I guess that works? 😅

Watched this video and understand a bit more about what champs in front line and what items to give them and won my first game. Ended up as the survivor and even where i never thought i beat the number #1 for most of the time of the game. In late game my set up of champs and everything was better and he had like double.the HP left than me and still he was not able to beat me and won every battle against him we ended up together as last 2 and i was the Victorious one

I think Mortdog said that the unit in the orb is already generated and taken out of the pool. I saw a clip on it, not entirely too sure. Not picking up the orb however can save bench space if that's something ur looking for. The reasoning was that since it's a blue orb they had to hard code what was in the orb before it drops. Because blue orbs can also give you items if I'm not mistaken. So the rammus in the orb was taken out of ur pool

Mortdog did say the orb unit is out of the pool during tft summit a few weeks back; however he double checked with the team and posted on twitter that he was incorrect and that the orb does not take from the pool until opened. his initial logic was if all units are removed from the pool than when you opened the orb you would get gold instead of that unit and he didnt think that was in the game, but that is in fact how it works, it is just so rare that it isnt seen very often. its a very small min/max but it is still a viable strategy

Hey, just wanted to mention that zed was the name of a unit that was in the game at the time. Tft adds and removes units from time to time in the form of 'sets.' We are currently in set 9.5 (there wont be any more half sets going forward so it will always be a full number like set 10, 11, 12...) but this video was filmed back in set 8.0, so you wont have to worry about zeds at all as he is not in the game and really isnt jargon. Sorry if that was confusing, i dont actively play the game anymore so i stopped making guides
