I just bumped into your channel and I appreciate how you take time out to reply questions. So I had my first remote work interview 3days ago, it went from the supposed 45mins to 1hr 38mins.. There were 3 interviewers BTW. In the beginning, one of them said they liked how I am already picturing myself in their team after I answered the usual; tell me about yourself question.. Along the line, another said, she liked my confidence.. Then when I was asked why they should hire me, after my explanation, I pulled out a work plan of what I’ll be doing on my first 90days if I become successful and one of them left a thumbs up on the screen.. The lead interviewer then said, I came really prepared.. Then he asked what my salary expectations were and when I mentioned he asked if we could negotiate and we did.. In the end he mentioned that, they have other candidates to interview, but if I’m successful, the next step would be to review my docs. They even forgot to ask me if I had any questions and when they were about to log off, I rose my hand to ask my question and they apologised, and answered my questions really well.. What do you think?

I expressed excitement for the role early on in the interview, so they did not sell me on the job (I did feel like I built a good rapport with the interviewers). Also, I did skip one question, that I returned to later with an ok, but not great answer. Other than that, I felt it went well because the other signs were all favorable. I do not feel confident in getting the role because they are interviewing 16 people for 4 positions (we are all internal). If it were an external posting, the competition would be higher. It's tough out there folks, good luck.

Last phone interview felt strange. It was like they laid out everything too easily. It is a 10-figure company. We went the full 30 minutes though. They only asked me two times about my experience. Right off the bat they already told me the salary. I didn't even have the chance to ask my more important questions; for example: why they're hiring, benefits, and future career goals; because they answered all that when they told me the position opened up due to a promotion. Supposedly an upcoming round 2 interview. I like to leave the smaller questions for emails, and they got back to me the same days.

The most senior member who was in charge of the interview kept getting calls (production line had stopped) and at the conclusion of the interview said he better take the call or he’ll get in trouble. This could be positive because why risk getting in trouble over a candidate you have no interest in hiring? But equally what if I was taking too long to answer questions and it was seen as a negative? Overall the experience was very positive so I’m hoping for good news.

I'm not sure if I'm overanalyzing, but yesterday I had a panel interview with a company. The company explained in the interview that they had a few more candidates to get through this week, but that they will make a decision, when they want the job to start, etc. Today I find out that there is a very similar job that posted yesterday on indeed which is very similar to the job, but it seems to require a little less experience. In addition, I looked at the company website, and the job is posted there. I know that it is the same job as indeed because it had a job id, which is the exact id listed in the company's website posting as well. And judging by other job postings, this is a unique ID for the posting itself. One interesting detail is that on the company website, a job with the same description was posted with a start date yesterday and a unposting date this coming sunday, just 5 days. Then, right when I started this youtube comment, I tried to refer back to the company website to bring up the job listing, and its gone (it early and not working hours yet). I'm not sure what, if any, this means for my job application/interview.

So I had an interview that went amazing didn’t even feel like an interview almost. The hiring manager also gave me the opportunity to chose of what clinic i’d like to work at and took my classes into consideration, When i was about to leave she said she’d call me that afternoon or first thing the day after in the morning. Its day 3 and i still haven’t got a call and i even texted her following up and asking when i should be expecting to get a call. What do you guys think i got the job or no. Am i overthinking??!

I went for couple rounds of interview. First with Manager, then Director and VP individually virtually. Then i went physically to their office where I met all of them face to face. It has been 2 weeks already and still no call back. The physical face to face interview was more of a getting to know me. Should I give them a couple more days before I follow up? I know t he job very well and I made it pretty clear as well as being overly excited the whole time. but in my defense I'm passionate about that job because i know the equipment and I just couldn't help myself. @@CareerShakersWell, what you said is precisely why you need to apply to dozens, if not hundreds of positions at a time, so you land enough interviews to have multiple options in the event you start getting offers. No, there's a lot I don't agree with here. Maybe because I'm in software engineering and it's different, but for example when you say it's bad to say "I don't know" for an answer, that's actually not a bad answer at all. Not the best, but it's even worse to start guessing out their ass. My past companies have actually recruited these people for being honest.
@CareerShakers9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your perspective. I also interview and hire swe's. But for any job interview, if your full answer to an interview question is "sorry, I don't know", it will not go well. You can say that you don't know, but then you should start to whiteboard a potential solution or explain how you would try to approach the problem and ask for feedback. Our engineering managers would prefer you try something so we can see your thought process and how you handle new problems rather than give up and ask to skip a question

I just had an interview, two bomm MF* kept asking technical questions like i am a f* AI human.. these recruiter need to relax and keep their questions simple and focus on the character that they are hiring. Group interviews are a classic sign that you’ll never get the job group interviews are a way organizations use to eliminate the candidates they’re pretending to hire all while the position has already been filled internally. I’ve been to a few group interviews in 2008 and wish I had just walked off. One was at the ministry of justice in my old home country of new Zealand I arrived and was left waiting on a 100 degree room with 10 other applicants they kept us there 30 plus mins over the scheduled interview time. They kept us in an office where we had to say who we were etc some were very scripted meaning that they already work there and are pretending to be interviewed. They then kept us in for 5-8 hours without letting us leave for lunch there were “note takers” in the room however the guy sitting behind me who was supposed to be taking down notes was only pretending to write his pen wasn’t even clicked down he was writing on his paper not writing anything at all. then we got interviewed finally at the end which was just fake and then once I got the rejection call later that evening I told them that I knew that was all fake and waste of my time.
@CareerShakers Жыл бұрын
Sorry you had that experience! But not every panel/group interview is a sign that you aren't getting the job. I know lots of companies who all require every candidate to do a presentation and group interview. This is very common for consulting companies and strategy & operations roles
