I had two interviews with a large software company, first one went really well and the interviewer called me the next day wanting to schedule another interview as soon as possible. I gave myself a week for preparation and I just did that today. I think it went well as the interviewer was nodding their head along with my answers and was taking notes. They also said they will call me tomorrow to let me know the decision. I can only interpret these as positive signs but I know well enough from experience being interviewed that you truly don't have the job until you receive a job offer. Wish me luck!

I had emailed the recruiter hours after the interview to thank them for their time and remind them of my strengths in the role. Recruiter replied quickly positively but ended her email saying “feel free to reach out if you have any questions and I wish you all the best as you search for your first job out of college.” I took that as in she is not interested in hiring me and the interview went worse than I thought… Thoughts??

This is a great video! I think I've hit most of the signs (going ~7 minutes longer, giving positive feedback when I asked comments on my performance, did small talks and chatted a bit on travel plans), but there're also some obvious bad signs (not replying to my thank-you note after being connected with the interviewer on LinkedIn, pretty incoherent interview questions, almost as if he was thinking of some on the spot, and I have some basic technical questions wrong). How should I go about my interview, and should I reach out to the interviewer again? I'm interviewing for an internship at a large financial institution for the context
@CareerShakers Жыл бұрын
Since you already sent a thank-you note, I wouldn't recommend reaching out to the interviewer again. Instead, I would check in with your recruiter if you don't hear back within a week. If you know you got some questions wrong, in your follow-up email to the interviewer I would address these questions and give the correct answers. It might turn things around for you. I had three consecutive interviews each week: 1. Phone interview with the Recruiter 2. Video interview with the Hiring Manager (went over the specified time by 30 min and the HM asked if I could stay on longer; she seemed engaged and shared specifics about her team and what she’s looking for) 3. 3 panel interviews all on one day with the Head of Benefits & Comp, VPs of Culture, Head of Talent and HM again This company has made consistent communication and interaction with me throughout the process thus far. I feel that the 1st 2 panels went exceptionally well(one of the interviewers asked that I request him and his colleague on LI and he recommended that I don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. The 3rd panel was the hardest, but I believe that I nailed it. I did follow up with additional questions the next day because of that 3rd panel. The recruiter simply responded to my questions. I can’t tell if things look promising? I did follow up one final time with questions about the expected decision timeline and what are the next steps in the process. The recruiter responded right away and said that I’d hear back in the middle of the week and that have a few more interviews. I’m shocked that no one has mentioned salary. Does this opportunity sound promising? Not sure what to make of it…

I was testing the waters, 3 interviews in the last 2 weeks. I got 2 of them on the spot and the last one the interviewer was intimidating as she is so beautiful. So in short, I was really nervous and only providing short answers instead talk more about the subjects. However, she did ask when is my availability. At then end, just thanked her and left. I realised that I don't think I would get the job offer. LOL. That was last Thursday and I will be laughed if I do get the job.

not sure if this is a sign but my interviewer asked me if I had pre vacation days/days off that she needs to be aware of. All new employees are on a six month probation so she asked me are there any vacation days/ days off between now and October that she needs to be aware of. Told her I have to attend a convention in August between 11-13. Don’t want to get my hopes up but will see. (Forgot to mention my interview was virtual via team)

It definitely sounds like they were impressed by your research on the role! It's probably not a good sign if they openly tell you how many more candidates that you're competing with. Sharing your boss' name usually isn't a sign of anything. Good luck and let us know if you got the job!

Hello! I had an interview with a company last week for an apprenticeship in HGV Mechanic. The interviewer really liked some of my answers to some of his questions and also liked one of the questions I asked him at the end of the interview and answered it in full telling me all the great things about the company then told me to ask that to one of the other colleagues during the tour of the place. We also had a laugh during some of the discussions we had. It did not actually feel like an interview, it felt like a flowing conversation which was really nice. He did say that there were a few other candidates in touch but he'd be in touch at the end of this week. However he was very complimentary about me to the recruiter. Is this a good indicator I've most likely got the position?
