Only reason L2 works so much is because of the bubble it creates, which removes any form of defense abilities like shoving, checking. once they remove the bubble you get when extending you stick L2ing will require more skill
@user-dj9iu2et3r2 жыл бұрын
The bubble has been there since like… NHL12 at least. They’re never going to remove it because it’s an intended feature. “The bubble” (as the fans call it) is literally how they represent the player protecting the puck.

This is definitely a cheat. It is equivalent to in nba2k how you could just cross over back and forth on offence and the defender couldn’t keep up. Eventually you would lose him and be wide open. Nba2k fixed it this year by making that a high effort play and your guy would get tired quickly and not be able to do this. Here in this situation. No player can be this mobile skating backwards. EA needs to fix this by making players have no mobility in this position and also add an open ice D wrap up function which is all that would happen and real life. You also in real life wouldn’t have the vision we have being above and seeing the whole ice. It would be cool if you go in this position everything around you blurs so you cant really see.
@ChelLife152 жыл бұрын
No it isn’t. First off, it’s easily defendable, second it’s quite hard to do at a very high level, and thirdly, there are no guaranteed goals from this move. As bad as NHL is, there’s no cheats
@user-dj9iu2et3r2 жыл бұрын
@@ChelLife15 it’s not a cheat at all. But as someone who uses L2 a lot, I wouldn’t say it’s “easy to defend.” If it was easy to defend (like say, a cross-crease attempt) then you and I wouldn’t be using it so damn much. So all I’m saying is let’s be real - it’s the most powerful move in the game.
@ChelLife152 жыл бұрын
Powerful if you’re good yes, but that’s what differentiates good players and bad players. Without it, without passing mechanics, there’s no skill gap

L2’ing like this is honestly what got me into the top 100 in OVP on PS5. That said, “skill zoning” is the correct way to play defense against this kind of offense. If they’re not going to pass the puck, then there’s no need to be aggressive. I think it’s strange that you say L2’ing is a “skill” (which I agree with) but throw shade at “skill zoning” when it’s the right way to play defense. Another question: why do you prefer to play HUT over OVP? I tend to think OVP is a more true test of skill because you aren’t playing with/against teams full of 99 OVR players - and if someone DOES pick a team like the all stars or national teams, you can just back out. Also, it’s not pay to win (which HUT is at least somewhat).
@ChelLife152 жыл бұрын
What’s up D! The reason I shit on skill zoning is because you’re letting your cpu do all the work. You sit in the middle and do nothing, there’s no skill in skill zoning. It’s legit something everybody can do, and leads to games I want to take my hair out as I tend to get close games because of so when when they opponent doesn’t score. Skill zoning is not the right way to play defense, the game should be played with skill and differentiating the good and the great, having skill zoners and skill zoning be this effective completely removes the skill gap. Also, if you mean online versus for OVP, I just like building a team for hut, with packs and shit. That’s all really, no real point playing versus

When someone has his back against you, just don’t do anything. Follow him without poking or bumping, wait until he turns to puck and bump. When on the rush, if he tries to spin you or whatnot, you can easily hit him if you time it right because of the negative speed from your end hitting his positive speed. You just can’t be aggressive when people l2 or you’ll get burnt

This killed the game long ago.. people just run high balance+strength and do this terrible shit. So EA put a terrible trait in the game to try and fix it (truculence) which makes the great game of Hockey have some brutal "meta" of how to play the game. When in reality anybody trying to weave and C cut through the offensive zone would be dismantled.. so this is very unrealistic. Too bad EA is the only hockey game we have.. it's full of potatoes who don't understand positional situations or have any transitional IQ and think their good by exploiting mechanics rather than actually taking time to enjoy the game with an actual team who plays actual hockey. So much more fun to set up your 2-1-2 offensive behind the net forecheck and actually outplay the opposition respectfully rather than just use poor game design mechanics to win. To each their own I suppose. An dont let that take anything away from your video, good work on your knowledge of this. Hopefully they fix these issues in future games and weed out these types of players from knowledgeable players. Cheers
