Good video I follow a couple guys because I’m new to hut not nhl but hut and I have learned to stay patient always play against your opponents habits get them uncomfortable n you’ll create a ton of space n it allows you to really control puck n practice your possession

Thank you very much for your valuable videos. For me as a complete newbie in NHL this is very helpful. Maybe you can help me with one thing. I am currently playing with hybrid control, but would like to switch to stick control. Especially because of the backwards control (LT on XBOX) in combination with the A button where you shield the puck. With the hybrid control A is the pass key, which makes it unnecessarily complicated. However, here's what I noticed with the stick control. When I hold the X button on the hybrid control, it charges a shot, I can skate around the goal and then release. That's not possible with the stick control, because I immediately trigger the shot as soon as I flick the stick forward. What is the solution to this? Hold LB and then flick the stick?

I ran into this issue as well and finally gave in to learning to skill stick, this year. Put me behind as I had to develop new muscle memory and I’m not discounting how hard this is. But, compared to the last 3 years of hybrid to this year; I’m beating AI in squad battled at Super Star Level (83 & under). Good players, top 100 In Squad battles, play & win all games at Super Star which is my goal. If you start now, switch to skill stick, progress through rookie, semi, and pro, you’ll thank yourself. I know it’s hard to give up hybrid, I was there. Playing like a newb and losing at semi-pro sucks, but the gains will come quickly. I’ll never go to GWC and I’m ok with that, but wasn’t ok with the plateau I was on. Start today; switch to skill sticks, grind it, and you WILL become a much better player.

My guess is it can go two ways. One would be it's similar to the sets we see now, lower OVR's will result in fewer collectibles created. (I think the cut off will be 83's though) The other way I see it going is the original style we saw with the Evo, SSO, etc. Where it's a combination of OVRs to get one player or a choice pack. I would be stocking up on 87+ OVRs.

What are the best game play sliders you utilize for Puck control because I feel like the Puck control is a little bit different. I can't seem to get my player to maintain control of the Puck at all.

Nhl 22 is all about knowing what technique to use in what situation using L1 or using X to drive or beat d man at the blue line to not have him bump your make easy poke and another big thing is getting your hands muscle memory this game takes a little bit of skill with the controls

I'm a new player to nhl 22. I haven't played the games in years and it's so frustrating in the rush or breakout. I used to be able to do tape to tape passes but now most of my passes can't even make it and when rushing with the puck I get easily bumped and lose possession of it. Then when I try to play defense it always leads to tripping or hooking. When I try to bump them off the puck the fall down and they still somehow keep the puck in their possession.

I hear you loud and clear Karl, I had some growing pains coming into NHL 22 as the mechanics are wildly different from years past. Yes it does, I refer to it a bit in this video (X) or (A) will definitely help you have more control when you're skating with the puck. L2 alone works in some instances, but if you can use both it will help you more especially when making tight turns. Hope this helps, and thanks for the comment!

I got NHL 22 today there is something wrong with the stick and puck. When I'm picking up the puck, it keeps bouncing off the stick. I was wondering if you know how to fix.

I haven't played yet today, but the mechanics are different than 21 for sure. Make sure when you're passing not to hold down "RT" too long or they will send a hard pass at your players, if you just started chances are their puck control is low so it may be noticeable on the get go. Also give a try on the manual saucer pass "RB" - hope this helps!

I noticed that too early in the game with some of the lower overalls, I would look for players with good hands and also would be aware of how long you're holding down RT when making passes. The majority of what you're experiencing is the lower overalls at launch which make it noticeable, hope this helps.

I'm a fairly good player with a solid team, but it feels like whenever I poke check people, the puck either stops on the spot or moves 2 inches away from the opponents stick and he just gets it back. But when I am poke checked, the puck always goes flying away right to the opponents players. I also feel like any time I do anything like what you do in this video, they easily knock the puck away. Is there something about this years poke that I am missing? Hut Champs was a nightmare this week.

I was having some issues with that too, I'll have more videos coming out walking through the poke check. Two quick things are to check the "agility" stat on your players and next make sure your back end is facing them when doing this move when you're close, if you're farther away it isn't necessary. Hopefully what comes out later helps a bit, I was 500 in champs to start 22' and now I win 75-85% of the games.
