Timberland reduced their lifetime warranty to a "1 year warranty" because many people were sending back the 6" waterproof boots because they have a defect that causes rain/snow to leak in the toebox area. Due to that fact ; in my humble opinion it's a bad investment to spend $190 on boots when Timberland warranty will only cover the "waterproof" boots for 1 winter. Even in NYC it's less common to see Timbs; aside from the classic wheats. Ironically; many clubs,bars,lounges,venues, etc. have a strict "No Timberland Boots" dress code policy at the door in New York City.

I like to pair my timbs with skinny jeans so i leave the top two lace holes empty and tie the laces pretty tight, it makes the boots look slimmer so it doesnt look as awkward and it continues that slim line fit from the pants to the boots. this just also helps with heel drag cuz if i wear my timbs loose, the heel rounds off super fast so i just keep it tight

Just got a brand new pair of pros for Christmas. Never knew how people tied them to be “cool” but I have mine laced up loosely to the second to the top hole and the tied a double knot on the ends of the laces to keep the laces from coming out. How I lace my timbs is i go out then in and one sides pattern is 1-skip a hole-2-skip a hole-2. Other side is 2-skip a hole-2-skip a hole-1. But the last two holes I got in then out and have a decent size lace hanging then i tie a knot (end of the lace is a about a inch away from the sow line on the side of the timbs). It helps keep the tongue from hanging too much and it gives it a nice spread look but still looks good.

Gonna get rain and snow in your boots lacing them like that, I recommend lacing up to the sixth hole. Lot of mud on building sites too, if you leave the boot loose like that it's a safety hazard. You'll also get your ass laughed off site.
