Had a boss who loved to travel back in the day. One day, he decided to take a trip to Russia, and when he asked the staff what they wanted as a gift from there, some asked for a shot glass or key chain. I told him to get some Timberland boots from there. I was actually joking when I told him that. When he got back from his trip, he handed out the gifts. Then he handed me a box and when I opened it, it was a Timberland boots that had some Russian writing in it. The weird thing is that I have never seen any Timbs like it. It didn't have laces but instead a rubber band like loops that you pull and attach to a wood like dowel. It's hard to explain, but needless to say, I have yet to see another one of its kind. Also, they are EXTRMELY WARM. 😊

I have a pair of premium wheat timbs, I say they definitely are worth the extra $80 in my experience. They did keep my feet warm for sure and made many outfits look great in the process. I never had the basics, so I can't speak for those. However i should add that i certainly got what i paid for, much more durable than i anticipated and better than reviews have said they'd be. They do run a little big, so get a half size down when getting regular sizes or a full size down when getting wides. My only complaint was that the tread likes to grab rocks and sometimes the timbs can be hard with on/off access. But I can wear them all day for the most part and that makes me happy w my purchase.

Timberlands boots can cost between $75- $190 depending on the quality and size of the boots. For a pair of timberlands boots that cost $140, it costs $35 to make them and sell them to the retailer for $70 so they only pay $105 and get profit when someone buys the shoes. The company only pays 25% of the original cost to make the boots and sells it to the company for 50%. They receive 25% profit and taking advantage of us

I've been wearing my premium Timberland boots every day in winter for 5 years now, and they're still mostly good. The soles are hardly worn, except on the heel, and they've developed a crack in the leather along the big toe, where the leather meets the sole. The cracks get a little deeper each year, so this might be the last winter i wear them. The waterproofing also "wore out" at some point, so now I regularly treat them with leather grease, which did change the colour of the leather, but otherwise improved the boots and also enhanced their insulation properties. I was never too keen on the yellow colour to begin with.

I had no idea they have now have two versions of the classic Timberland boot. I got my first pair in High School in the late 1980s and went through 3 pairs before moving cross country with no real winter. They were awesome. Saw a pair at DSW last week and as with many items over the years, I was dismayed by how much cheaper they looked compared to my old trusty ones back in the day. So thanks for this video, now I know the originals are still made and I'm going to order a pair!

I've had one pair of these, the premium version back in the late 90s when I was in high school and you would DEFINITELY be the laughing stock of the school for wearing the cheaper version (we called them fake). They were around $120-140 back then. I wore them for a few years and only stopped wearing them bc I had worn the back right side of both soles down so bad it negatively effected my walking gait and balance when I was standing. I didn't know anything about getting the soles replaced, so I just got rid of them even though I kept the shoes in almost pristine condition. This was back when every sneaker store sold the eraser/sponge brush combo to maintain anything with nubuck in the upper and I ran through the entire eraser

I like how the premium boots come with a D3O insole now. I was surprised they don’t mention it in the specs as D3O insoles aren’t cheap

My first Pair of Timbswere the basic ones. I chose them because they were lighter, I’m used to wear very light sneakers. Honestly I can say I would like them to be more cushed, but since I don’t really wear them more than twice a week I’m happy with them. :) Nice vid. 🧍🏻

I have a pair of the non premium ones lol, but they have served me as a great boot. Waterproof, comfortable, durable, only $100 and even though they dont have white stitching or a gumsole, ive had plenty of compliments on their looks.

I also have the cheaper ones and I’m amazed by them. How can the premium be even better?
@AurelioLeon-zh5ok Жыл бұрын
The werid thing it he qualified the basic ones as an A-Ok budget boots, not the best, but not terrible and a good enough trade for the money, poeple got mad anyways.

I think the non premium(basics) are a cheaper alternative for those who are fans of the timbs but don't have the money for better quality..

I bought a pair of Timberland “ Forest Boots” in 1982 finally gave up on them in 1985 fully lined in leather, full leather insole, super tough soles, waterproof insulated, Made in America, bloody superb. Bought another pair, synthetic lining not so comfortable, And, as I found to my severe displeasure, not petrol resistant !!!

Got my 6 inch premium a while back and whenever I come across the cheaper version I always use to think if I'd unnecessarily spend too much on the premium timbs but this review cleared my doubts. Thanks buddy!

I've had mine for 10 years now, used them for warehouse work and around in the countryside in the UK and they've held up amazingly. They're expensive but definitely worth it IMO

When I worked outdoors I swore by Timberland boots, they are durable and will last. I had a pair of Dunhams where the sole fell off after a week in the woods. Never again for Dunham, but if I was to work outdoors again I'd definitely go with Timberland.

I’ve had both the premium and basics. I got a pair of basics about 4 years ago and this winter was shopping and saw the basics and the quality has gone down on the basics tremendously. The basics use to be a good deal I would get them for Christmas when I was in middle in high school my parents would buy them on the Black Friday deal for 100 dollars. Now I’m going to get the premium again now it’s only an extra 40 dollars and the quality is just that much better.

I love my TImberlands, but found if they get soaking wet the liner has a lot of felt that washes off and sticks to my wet socks and takes a while to dry out, other than that they are very comfortable and well built! You should do a Walmart knock off comparison for fun! great video and I just subbed to ya!

I love my Premiums. They look good and are quite comfy. These boots are a steal if you can get a lightly used pair. I got a used pair that weren't even broken in yet (most like the reason they were sold because they weren't comfortable at first). I bought them for $100

2:40 I get why all the dads are complaining about how you are cutting because that knife is just begging to slip and go flying into your face with the way you cut and hold it, hehe.
@RobertScottAudio5 жыл бұрын
I notice that as well. I'd use the cutter pointing down, so when it slips, it cuts into the shoe, not my finger(s).

You do know this gentlemen cuts leather for a living right? He scoffs at Kevlar gloves and risk matrix bull crap.
@Agitabodie5 жыл бұрын
@@eswing2153 Does this mean he can`t do anything wrong? I mean, it is kinda a chance of cutting himself vs holding it in a way that he can`t cut himself. He can do whatever he wants, but you cant honestly say that this being his job makes him immune to mistakes as clear as this :)

This info is great, and I love these videos. Do you have a webpage, or somewhere you break down your preferences? Even if I watch 6 or 7 of these, it’s tough to get a feel of your personal preference. A couple questions I think we all have: What should we expect to pay for a decent work boot? What are some visual tell tale things we should look for, since we can’t cut them apart at the store (boy were they mad at me that day) Are there any brands you are consistently pleased with? And disappointed by? Don’t let these boots die in vain, man!

I have 4 different Timberland Pro boots. Most hover around $200 for the ones I get. There is a difference for comfort and build. The type of work I do around chemicals and mining Bondocks and some Redwings are what you see. My oldest pair of Timberlands are 7 years and fit like a glove
