I’ve always just called ‘em Tims and first started wearing them back in the 90s like so many of us. Have loved the original wheats ever since my first pair! Maybe it’s me getting old but I got a pair of their wheat chukkas last year and love those, too! As a guy now in my 50s I often opt for chukkas because they’re easy as hell to style and never look like you’re trying too hard. The Originals will forever be the O.G. (pun intended)and always worth having, but the chukkas still give me the same confidence and get the same compliments. Gotta love the butters!😊

O.G. I agree with you on many things. A lot of things, really. However, the only time a man over 40 should be in Timberland work boots is if he’s doing outdoor work and or working at a construction site. Now someone might say that I don’t know what I’m talking about or I’ve never owned a pair of Timberlands. I’m in the over 50 crowd and I’ve owned Timberland sandals, clogs, Canards ( 5 years, unfortunately there’re no longer made) and Nanooks( 16 winters - no longer available). I know folks who wore Timberlands year round and now they can’t wear them anymore because their feet took a beating as a result. Don’t get wrong, I’ve seen Timberland suede work boots in colors other than Wheat Nubuck and they are sexy. There was even a pair called Foundry with a steel plate to protect the feet, that caught my eye. But they are no longer sold. Anyhow, please suggest to your subscribers that Timberlands are cool, but expand the list other than the typical work boot. As usual, great video. Thanks for sharing.

Contrary to popular belief butters were worn as a fashion item by east coast preps long before hip hop made them a worldwide sensation. I got my first pair of premium in 1978 after i saw a kid in my jr high had a pair he bought at timberland in maine. I ordered mine, i lived in Maryland. It was $75 and $2 shipping and took six weeks cuz they were by order only initially. We already had timberland i was wearing the low moccasins but obviously once we saw the premium that was that. A must have. We basically wore tims with levis straight leg cords mostly and izod alligator polos but rl polo was coming around. We just laced the boots up regular and wore the straight legs over the tim collars but they still rocked hard. The yellow boot looked great with those red, blue, and green colored levis cords. It was a first generation of the street style you see today. 1978. That's the history and i got pictures to prove it lol. Hip hop ended up making tims famous and the way they styled em was freaking amazing so i give credit but the OG'S??? That was some suburban dudes on the east coast in late 70s. And for the DC or NYC argument on who had em first. I don't know about NYC but i did see tim butters on feet in DC early 80s. It was a thing. Peace sir.
@deanburdick77699 ай бұрын
The loose fit looked best on you, brother. The tied up one didn't look so sharp. What if you left em loose and rethreaded the last bit of the lace though the hole instead of leaving them outside laying lose their hidden inside? Also, what about putting a small piece of leather to hold it down, I have a pair of Hey Dudes that use a pinch of leather to hold the lace in a way it looks stylish.

@@TheStyleOG Thanks G. I feel you would look great in the classic M-65. But any field jacket (particularly olive), you would rock, in my opinion.. I feel the having the olive color up around my head and face does me no favors. It makes me look too pale, so I went with black...or navy if they would have had it. Jose Zuniga I feel looks really good in his field jackets. I feel you would too Jeff for the same reasons; skin tone and upper body development.
