Good video. Just one more tip. So many people don’t know that the deploy height is marked on the left edge of your mini map as a little white line. It moves up and down to show the 100m deploy height as you fly over terrain. Not helpful if you already picked a jump spot over elevated terrain, but useful as a learning tool.
@aguyandhiscomputer Жыл бұрын
I was gonna comment on that. I've seen it move up and down and I thought it was my dive angle. Now I know it has to do with the terrain.
@TobyWanShinobi Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was gonna mention it... but I've honestly never made any use for it. I know what is lower vs higher and you gotta be right over the terrain for it to read the elevation, and at that point its usually too late. But let me know if you use it for something else... Good call though!

I have literally NEVER noticed that before. That's insane.

This right here is what a guide should look like. You explained everything very clearly and made it easy to understand. I knew beforehand that you can glide 300 meters after you deploy your glider at the 100 m mark, but I still dropped in a perpendicular line towards my marked location, and then I wondered how it was possible for people to be landing when I was still 50-100 meters from reaching that location, or that I reached it but I was way above ground waiting to land.

I've found to me. I mark the point on the map where I plan to drop. Then watch distance to roll down to 1250. Or if the drop spot is a good distance away from the busses flight route. I watch the distance again and wait till it's at the closest distance then jump. I'll then glide until I'm about 1000 away then finish diving to my mark.. For higher altitude drops. I'll jump at about 1300 to 1350. It's not always a perfect drop but it simplifies it for me. Hope this helps 😊

Here's a question. I know you mention having to be approx. 10 degree angle to start the faster dive speed. So there's clearly a speed difference. Is the dive speed any faster between diving at an angle (as you suggest) and straight down? It SEEMS as though you are diving faster when diving straight downwards than say a 45 angle. Do you know if that's true, or we're just perceiving it to be faster?
@ShawnsLoop Жыл бұрын
In typing this out I could easily test this. Mark the same spot twice. Jump at the same distance away from the marker. Do one jump straight down and the other at 45 and see if one gets down faster or farther. Curious now. Might just do that and see...
@TobyWanShinobi Жыл бұрын
Well... the fastest way from point to point would be a straight line I think, 90 degree down. I think the horizontal speed (distance covered horizontally) with a 10 degree pitch is about the same as diving at 45 degrees but I could be wrong... let me know if you test it!

@@TobyWanShinobi Every so often, the randomized ground loot at a POI just...isn't there, or isn't good. I have that every now and then. Land and there's just nothing good. Fireflies, some small slurps, heals, but not a gun to be seen LOL. I've put a timer on myself. Give it 20-30 seconds. If you can find anything then you just drew the short end of the ground loot stick and switch to another and stay low. so I have been trying to test this and it seems to be fairly accurate and consistent in my drops but I think, depending on where your character is looking when your glider is deployed, whether you’re looking up or down changes the pitch of your glider itself, and I’ve noticed that if I look down at the ground as my gliders out the glider itself points at a sharper angle down, so you end up hitting the ground faster, whereas like if you pointed straight up at the sky, you don’t see where you’re landing or where you’re gliding, but your glider pitches up, and you stay in the air just slightly longer I don’t know if anyone can confirm my hypothesis here but at least in games that I play this is been some thing I’ve noticed.
@ShawnsLoop Жыл бұрын
I think the change of angle is not very big, but yes, I've also noticed that looking up or down after glider deployment does seem to make a small difference in how long you stay in the air.

Loved the video I have on off topic question if I may ask I play on xbox with a controller and I can't figure out for to pet a animal it says it's unbound but I can't figure out how to fix that no matter what I do. Do you happen to know if so I would really appreciate it if you can let me know as always you and the videos you make are the best 👌

Should be in your controller settings... maybe custom settings? then find something like mount/ride animal...

Do a full restart of your Xbox console. As in hold the power button until it restarts. I still notice this on occasion. It happened the most early in Chapter 4 when we had the Falcon scout. The controls would randomly get unbound and you'd get stuck in the zoomed in Falcon scout view and then couldn't move. It's a known issue that is intermittent and the advice has always been if you suddenly see a bind is unbound, restart the console and it should rebind fully from your settings. This always worked for me when the Falcon Scout would go AWOL :)

I have a video saved on my PlayStation of someone blasting past me on the drop and he kept doing these little speed bursts (with little line graphics behind him and everything) and to this day I don't know what he was doing.

5:11 why not drop at the 90 degree angle to the pinned glider deploy spot? Isn’t that the lowest distance which would allow you to dive at a downer (idk the word) angle so faster drop?
@TobyWanShinobi Жыл бұрын
When you think about it 45 degrees down to a spot is faster than across and then down... fastest way to a point is in a direct line
@tabletalenovo9695 Жыл бұрын
@@TobyWanShinobi I meant 90 degrees as in the top down view of the map, and drop as in dropping out the bus, not the diving part sorry

how would it be possible that jumping other than perpendicular would be shorter than a perpendicular jump? the distance is shorter so how would it make ifaster?

Travel time to the ground. The earlier you jump, the faster to the ground you are - its not just horizontal distance. If someone throws a football at a target 45 degrees, 2 seconds earlier than another person who throws it 90 degrees but 2 seconds later - which football hits the target first?
