Love the 1,2,3,4 for getting the pattern started. Couldn’t tell because it was semi off screen but looked like you may have been ringing/rinsing your grout sponge in the sink, for anyone at home DO NOT do this, the cement/sand in the sponge will settle in your P trap and you’ll have flow issues. Get a bucket of clean water, and don’t dump that bucket down your drain either.

I saw your video and it inspired me to debut my tile laying skills 😅 however when I tried to follow your 1,2,3,4 steps to lay down the first corner I noticed that the tiles didn't fit how they did for you. Thank you so much. As we cannot get a tiler for months, (post lockdown problem) I am faced with doing this myself (We have all the tiles already and I have borrowed an electric tile cutter. I wont use this now). I had ideas how to do it but your way is simple and makes sense plus the finished product is superb. Well done. Pedant note: You didn't appear to put a spacer between tile no 7 and 8, so did the grout hide this reduced space or did you put a spacer in later, that we didn't see? The finished tiling looked fine.

Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!! I want to do a herringbone pattern on my backsplash also and I have been watching a ton of videos trying to figure it out. I never knew the tile could be cut so specifically that all the pieces perfectly fit together like this (the 1-2-3-4 method you showed). My subway tiles are 4"x12", do you think this method will still work? Your kitchen backsplash looks beautiful!
@NicoleHerrickDIY Жыл бұрын
Yes my tiles are the same size so this method will work for you! There might be some that the off cuts just end up a bit small and you need to use another but it’s ok. And for that size tile you ready didnt need that sort of adhesive. Ready mixed in a bucket would have been ideal. Created more work for yourself.
