i discovered you girls in year 2, so I missed the build. I preface this with I love you, I love how you tease each other and your quirky personalities. Thank God, you got better at this, these are awful, Emily's winning smile and a visit from Joanie were the highlight.

Can I ask why u put a frame down onto the base of the van . So when it comes to my own building a van I might know what to do..

Hey troops :) I'm going through your build series again, nearly 3 years after finding your channel.. nostalgia! Just quickly, looking at the floor you did with the small areas of sound deadening, are you happy eurgh the way that amount of material cut down the road noise or in hindsight would you put more down?
@campervibe Жыл бұрын
Hey Pete, to be completely honest with you. Now we’ve built it and use it all the time we get so many rattles and shakes due to the terrible suspension that I can’t even hear the road noise over that! 😂 so I can’t really say. I think most of our road noise actually comes from the cab end, possibly the doors?

Hi, I love these videos! Can you please tell me more about the exact type of King span product you used?
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Hi steph, we used 25mm King's pan or celotex on the floor (they're pretty much the same) and 40mm in the ceiling. Hope that helps.

Hey there, hope you are both doing well and enjoying the van. Can you please tell me where you sourced 33mm batons? Thanks.
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😁 We got the battens in b and q and wickes, I think they had it in both at the time. Its sold as 34mm batten but can vary in thickness a mm or 2 either way.

great videos! what flooring did you use and did you use underlay? any information gratefully received!
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Hi Anna. We used a hardwood laminate, mostly because of our dog and our cat. It's very heavy tho, with hindsight I may have considered altro flooring, very hard wearing and light, just not as nice to look at. And yes, we used underlay, laminate floor specific one.

What were the silver strips directly on the metal floor, at the beginning of the video?
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
Hi seb, that was some dodo mat sound deadening.
@sebxj25vm4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I was looking at some 5M closed cell foam (3mm) for sound deadening as well. I can't seem to find a comparison or some specs as to which one works better - the dodo mat or the 3M closed cell foam. The 3M foam is definitely cheaper.
@campervibe4 жыл бұрын
@@sebxj25vm both will work, I would guess the dodo mat will perform better as it is heavier, I was surprised how heavy it was when it arrived. I work with closed cell foam and I haven't come across one anywhere near as heavy. I don't know how big the difference would be and that is just my guess lol!
@sebxj25vm4 жыл бұрын
Thank you - that is useful to know. I didn't realise that the dodo mat uses a different material from the closed cell foam
@sebxj25vm4 жыл бұрын
Hmm - looking into it a bit closer, it seems that they heavy butyl compound used in the Dodo Dead Mat is good at deadening panels and bodywork vibration - while the closed cell foam is good at absorbing sound coming from outside of the vehicle. I guess either should help one way or the other.

I looked it up, it's an ice cream cone with a thing in the middle. "A 99 Flake is an ice cream cone, usually made with soft serve ice cream, into which a Flake bar has been inserted. The ice cream is usually vanilla flavoured. They are sold by ice cream vans and parlours." Its British.
