Hey guys. This...feels...weird. This video was pre-filmed before the recent change in tone of the news and social media. I'm uploading because it's my job, and I still want to make uplifting content for the 30 minutes of your day that your brain might need a break, but it does feel frivolous. Please know that the issues in the news right now are at the top of my mind, my heart is broken, and I'm trying to navigate this the best way I can. I've listed resources to donate below. When you said "We've been brain washed to believe it's bad to have a dark circle...." I thought "Amen". 10 years ago I started wearing concealer and saw a photo of myself and thought "Why do I look weird". It was the concealer. I have deep set eyes and the darkness was giving a certain dimension to my face. I'm 50 now and found Glossier's stretch concealer - which is fabulous because 1. it's so emollient and 2. it lets my own skin tone come through. I've currently found the Tarte undereye corrector and that is helpful when I literally look like I have black eyes - that's too much dimension and scares people. Thanks for everything!

I very much appreciate the light content (which is basically why I come to a beauty channel to begin with) on a pretty heavy day. Also, so great to hear about how/why you do what you do when you are putting on makeup. I found your channel from your makeup for close set eyes video, and I find it so helpful when you tell us what happens to the appearance of your eye when you angle your eyeliner in a certain way or about local color.

I love the new setup! Looks so good! Edit: OMG I am so self aware of that ‘white reverse raccoon eye’! Also, I don’t use a concealer that is 2-3 shades lighter under the eye. I find that when it’s the same or just like 1/2 a shade lighter it looks better on me. But that’s just me!

Kackie - Have you seen the Lisa Eldridge video where she does her blush technique (with powders) with like 12 blushes that she did for the red look in Dumbo? I'm only mentioning it because as a fellow blush junkie it is actual porn and because she mentions similar color steps in application, which is why I thought of it. It is so extremely delightful. She is the person who made me love blush (French Vogue cover, 1997) and while she is much more restrained usually, I love when she goes wild.

Speaking of techniques on how to apply makeup, I don't know really how to apply foundation without looking like I'm wearing a ton of make-up. I don't know why, but it shows so much texture on my dry skin. Also, I don't really know how to apply my RSM concealer and make it last longer than an hour... But I've learned so much about blushes now!
@kackie
@kackie 4 жыл бұрын
Aw! Okay so I hate the RMS concealer for that reason. I can’t get it to work for anything! And what coverage level and finish are your foundation? Some foundations are flexible and can be worn lightly or built up for more coverage, but some have ONE coverage level and that’s it.

@@kackie mine are very light coverage. That's why it's weird. I have the kosas tinted oil and even that I feel that creates "non skin " texture. When I mix it with my moisturizer it improves, but still I haven't really found the way to even out my skin tone and create a natural base 🤷‍♀️
@kackie
@kackie 4 жыл бұрын
@@amozzaris6133 The Kosas actually doesn't have any waxes or stabilizers in it, so I feel like it unexpectedly goes higher coverage and matte-er than I would guess. Are you using any skincare that might help encourage cell turnover so your texture improves overall?

@@kackie I actually like the way The Kosas evens out the skin tone, but I feel like, as you say, in my dry skin it goes matter. I mean, I have four cats so... but I also keep all my makeup and brushes in a shut cupboard and it does nothing. Any tips or tricks? Or do I have to take a deep breath and just deal? Ah! That’s tricky, I hear you. Have you tried maybe something like the Cloud Paint from glossier? It’s a liquid that dries down but still behaves like a cream, and you can just dab dab dab with a sponge. Maybe a soft sponge with any of the products might help. Oh! And I have a video called “how to get the glossier glow with acne” or with trouble skin or something like that. Maybe search my front page for that? It shows some tricks for embracing the redness and actually saving the concealer for last in some cases. Let me know if I can help in any other way! ❤️
