Your videos are such a useful training tool. I've always wanted to implement a quicker lead kick bc I've felt the switch kick takes longer to throw and is easier to read but I never knew how to open up the hips to snap it up quickly. If he fights Kamaru usman, he has to utilise his weakness, kamaru is a forward fighter that pressures forward with that very good jab and puts u to the wall and then clinches to tire you out then takes u down and control u on the ground and break u down and wear down ur durability but lacks in lateral movement which is what wonderboy big part of the game plan and I think if wonderboy uses the side kick to the leg or a counter spinning back kick after usman jab, that will be really good for wonderboy and very damaging for usman and working that karate style stance, if he goes deep in to the inside of usmans jab and overhand would be good as well. That is the same with soo many power punchers in the heavier weight divisions and wrestlers. Woodley on the other hand is a weird type of wrestler, he is a very feint power slam wrestler who uses lateral movement for that single leg or a grip to then go up for a clinch and then put ur head down for a guilotine or take u down and smash and control the top and positioning, but in wrestling he only puts soo much control that he really puts the focus and pressure on one side of the body and crusifixes u and it is easy to get out, but when u get out, twood has a great grip and if u hip escape and try to stand up, u will get punished really badly but if u don’t stand up, he won’t take u back to the ground so he’ll let u stand up only for massive punishment and u cant stand up u will lose by tko finish

Can we get a spinning back hook kick, or wheel kick? Loving the channel!
@theunqualifiedamerican5 жыл бұрын
@By His Holy Cross no it's not. A wheel kick is a straight leg spinning kick. A spinning back hook kick is a back kick that hooks at the end. Very similar in appearance, and some styles may cross the names, but the kicks are performed much differently.
@grandmasteryorick22555 жыл бұрын
@@theunqualifiedamerican this guy is right though its basically just extending your kicking leg earlier than a side kick its like your dragging it instead of thrusting
@theunqualifiedamerican5 жыл бұрын
@@grandmasteryorick2255 yeah that's my point about the difference. I know the impact is the same, and actually a wheel kick will have increased power because of the whip. A spinning back hook kick is more linear until the hook at the end. Which makes it harder to see at the expense of power.
@djbray75 жыл бұрын
The back hook kick is performed very differently than the wheel kick. The back hook kick is faster and has more of a whip effect. You spin around, lean away from your target, and you "hook" your leg through the target. Your body only turns about 75% of the way through the kick. With the wheel kick, your body is far more upright and you keep your leg almost totally straight and try to use your leg like a club. You also turn your entire body with the kick. The wheel kick is a little more powerful, but both will knock out your opponent if you land it on the chin. People confuse them because they look quite similar and people often use a hybrid in combat sports.
@theunqualifiedamerican5 жыл бұрын
@@djbray7 agreed. The only thing I'll say is that for our hook kick, or any kick for that matter we always remain upright with our head. If you let your head go away from your opponent, so to does your reach and power. Many people do it to make up for flexibility and increase kicking height, but your head leads the body so if it's leading into the strike your power goes the same way.
