As a teacher to different age groups, I have come across situations wherein vulnerability made the class magically healing and profoundly transformative... ❤ it created a safe place to just be without judgement but an incredible amount of compassion and kindness between us all and with ourselves too!! ❤❤

That's the key 🗝️ you have to actually care about the answer. Anyone can say anything, but it's when, where, why , how and who they say it to and in front of that matters most. When you're coming from an authentic and sincere space and place others can feel that just as much as when you're not and will respond accordingly.💛

Vulnerability examples ... 1. Admit a mistake 2. Ask for help 3. Say "I don't understand something" 4. Admit struggles That's all there is. Thanks Simon for your wise words. It's not about appearing bulletproof / perfect, rather more human ... becoming more relatable. I'll start with myself. Surely everyone's a leader in some or more areas of life.

Dear friend, in order to become a successful and respected leader, it's essential to cultivate empathy. By putting yourself in your team's shoes and understanding their perspective, you can build a more cohesive and collaborative environment. Remember to actively listen, show genuine concern, and communicate effectively to create a positive workplace culture. Leading with empathy isn't just good for your team's morale - it's good for business. Best of luck on your leadership journey!

Thanks for posting! Vulnerability definitely feels weak at first blush, but after practice it becomes easier and it's power is revealed over time. Through sharing and open communication fear will become less as people realize that what they were suppressing or hiding wasn't as bad as they thought and it begins to lose it's power. It also helps to have a non-judgmental listening partner or partners as I am sure you are aware of. Much love, and thanks.

Thank you for highlighting such an important topic as it is mental health - I think people in positions of leadership, regardless of their field, should have a good understanding of mental health and the importance of it; and not only to have a good understanding, but also to be able to utilize those skills when needed, because mental illnesses are real- and just because most people can hold a job, put a good face out there, and not verbalize their struggles that does not mean that lots of pople are not struggling in silence with mental health challenge; and sadly, probably not getting help because of different reasons; including, probably because not fully understanding the importance of prioritizing mental health. I hope more people take the initiative of prioritizing mental health the same way as physical health because we as humans depend on both - our physical, and our mental health to effectively navigate this world full of uncertainties.

Great video. I wonder how many people who don't currently hold space for others or show vulnerability watch Simon's content. Or is it just those who already see that this is missing from workplaces and catch those in need of being asked if they're ok

I am the second. I've been a vet tech for 5 years and the veterinary field is a mess in my opinion. I see people struggling mentally everyday but I am good at reading behavioral cues of those who hide it better as well. I love Simon's content because he explains things in a way I completely agree with and how I think the world should be. Thanks Simon for teaching/ guiding us all who do want to make it a better place 🙏

@@anitacrumbly Are you insinuating the gov't is hiding something because you know they are? Are you trying to protect what you think they're hiding?

I really wish the people who run hospitals would listen and apply what you say Simon. I've been a manager pretty high up in a nationwide corporation. I see into the dark underbelly of upper management. You probably have heard of the "nursing shortage..." There is NO shortage. There's a "staffing problem." Upper management simply sucks at leading their people. Nurses are leaving in droves. Hospitals are toxic work environments from the top down. They don't trust their reports to do the job they were hired to do. Micromanaging at every turn. Doing the right thing isn't the right thing to do despite management "encouraging" you to "do the right thing." I'm so frustrated with my company right now. The hand doesn't know what the foot is doing. They are pushing the customer service model with the left hand while the right foot is kicking you for providing good customer service. The right hand is writing out policies that are detrimental to customer service with zero regard to the ripple effect their policies have. Hospitals could stand to benefit greatly to your words.

I really appreciate it. But so many people who we are their leaders are really so malicious they really will take our vurnalibulity and use it against us. What I want to say is that a lot of humans are really not an angels.
