Ah yes my favourite true combo, back air into imagination

Learning the different MU's will be the hardest thing to master, but ensuring you have your neutral down will be the best step to mastering it. I didn't think about switching up my move utility for neutral till this video, you learn something new everyday, thanks Sill!

Something I like to do to get a feel for a move's ending lag is to first use the move, and then immediately hold shield afterward to make it clear when you can act again. Dthrow - bair, for example, is a combo that has different timing windows depending on your character. Holding shield after dthrow helps to visualise when it's time to turnaround bair, making it easier to get a feel for dthrow's endlag.

This is a great tip and I will be using this from now on. I enjoy playing several characters that can utilize down throw bair for combos/kill confirms and I may just suck at turning around quickly but now I can at least work on the timing aspect alone

One of my favorite parts of learning a new character is figuring out which character I want to learn. My journey started with Byleth, a character with mostly simple combos, high damage output, and most importantly a good recovery. I was no longer afraid to go offstage and sd trying to hit my opponent. The next step for me after a mewtwo phase was learning a simple combo character. The perfect target being Mario. Still need to work on his best kill confirm up air into fair but I was now able to rack up crazy damage. Now that I am "good" at the game I like to find a character with an aspect I find interesting, attempt to learn that technique (usually it's actually a combo) then branch off to make the rest of the kit work around finding that opportunity. I learned drag downs from falco which led to joker, shiek, and greninja with his techable drag down. I've attempted learning bayonetta with limited success but can give my friend a hard time. I find DK cargo throw to be very interesting. Mewtwo made me learn idj and he can throw out so many aerials before landing. I've taken a strong liking to glass cannons like Jigglypuff with her rest and even Pichu recently with crazy combos and kill power. In the end it's about what's fun and I really enjoy pulling off some of the crazy stuff I've worked on over time

I know that there was one time when I was playing lucina on low gsp ultimate against a falco, and every time he hit my shield, I would up b out of shield. Eventually, he started to shield my up b but didn't punish me afterward, so I just kept doing it. Later on, I noticed that I kept up bing out of shield and that I had accidentally conditioned him to shield after touching my shield. So I fished for him to touch my shield, and when he did, I hit him with a jump shield breaker and cheesed the game and won.

Trying to learn Pichu. I play a wide variety of characters (Falco, Rob, Puff, Lucina, Ryu, and more recently, Falcon). Pichu is by far the hardest character for me. His neutral sucks because of self-damage, and he's so light! The biggest problem, however, is that every single guide is pre-nerf, making it so hard to learn him. Any tips?
