좋아 technically just means 'good,' but Koreans use it colloquially to mean "I like it!/ "I like _________." 좋아해, on the other hand, is what they SHOULD be using to mean "I like ______.," because 좋아해 needs an object (you have to name the thing you like.) They're used interchangeably, but 좋아해 is the grammatically correct way to say you like sthg. You know how some people say things in English like "Kimchi? LOVE!" (meaning they love IT, but they've left off the 'it')? 좋아 is used like that in Korean.

Usually the badchim(받침) Is NOT emphasized on.... Hence the reason it's not really pronounced... Note: the badchim(받침) is the final Consonant in a Korean word.
