@@sammacer yes, it’s for work. I work on a longline factory freezer fishing for cod. I am the cook however. We stay out for about a month at a time we fill the boat then come back to land. offload the fish and head back out for another month; then I go home and take a couple months off.

When you write notes about your materials, do you have a way of organizing it? I feel like I wouldn't be able to find the notes again.aftet writing them

I use an note taking desktop app to make notes which makes it easy to find things using CTRL + F. I’ve heard people have a lot of success with record cards in a deck.

Hi Sam i have a question, is it possible not to use ethanol in a perfume blend? Like for instance i will use tec as my diluent or maybe mix with dpg since some of my neat can be diluted with dpg. My previous blend is actually with ethanol and am not sure if its the right material im using despite of their claim as sda40b ethyl 96%. Seems too strong in my nose. Or maybe because i missed the maceration stage that is why my blend is not projecting too much and it does not long last?
@sammacer2 ай бұрын
Ethanol is the only regular solvent to use for the bulk of a fine fragrance - maybe you’re not used to the smell, maybe your fragrance materials aren’t strong enough inside
@PlantswithCoffee2 ай бұрын
@@sammacergotcha… ‘my blend is already on its 10th since it’s blended. I skipped maceration due to lacked of knowledge about maceration. So what i did is just mixed everything togther with my solvent/diluents. Today, i think the smell of the alcohil is kind of okay now but thr fragrance seems gone very quicky. Also the smell is kind of muted after a while…

Hey Sam. Love your channel! As a cancer survivor, I have begun to make my own perfume oils from 100% essential oils, but I am looking for a disbursement so that they spray and I get projection also so they are less oily. Any feedback is appreciated.

Question. What can I do to increase the performance of the fragrances that I create. Also I am new to perfumery and currently I am hand mixing my compositions, are there any tips that you can recommend that will enable me to blend my fragrances as well as possible?

Great video as always! Do you uses the recommended smelling percentage on tgsc? I'm not sure if that should be a formulating percentage or purely analysis.
@sammacer3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I myself don't use tgsc much at all, and I don't really look at the percentages on it much either. Having the predilutions at 10%, 1% and 0.1% allows me to understand which dilution is most likely appropriate for a given raw material. I would recommend that but I don't see any problem with tgsc if it helps :)

can I make perfume using only natural EO'S?
@sammacer3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but most likely it will smell not as nice as perfumes you can buy in shops
@xoxUnD3R0aThxox3 жыл бұрын
@@sammacer I actually started sort of like you, and already have a lot of EO's, but I realized if I were to continue doing this hobby, I need to dabble into synthetics, and not really because of the scent, but because of a severe lack of longevity, sillage and projection!!! I actually wonder if I start incorporating only musks, would it achieve what the EO's are lacking? What would be a good musk to start with?
@sammacer3 жыл бұрын
@@xoxUnD3R0aThxox I started with a lot of EOs and the problem I had was a lot of camphoraceous and oily notes. The trick I found was to use good quality naturals in dilution with the synthetics. I think it's good to have a range of synthetics, but for musks in particular I would recommend ethylene brassylate and exaltolide.
@xoxUnD3R0aThxox3 жыл бұрын
@@sammacer thanks, I will give those a shot, have you tried EO's with musks before? Do you think the musk will be enough for longevity sillage and projection?
