You're absolutely correct. You have to put yourself out there and learn it yourself and put it into practice until you get the gist of it. That's how I learned, and your videos were and still are a massive help to master the program so thank you for creating the resources for people.

You sir are an amazing human being. I can’t thank you enough. I’m in a very unique situation. I’m an RCDD but all my experiences are field related. I was just hired as a designer for division 27 and all of my colleagues are architects and engineers. I was king in the field, now I’m the peasant lol. You’ve helped me understand and have given me the tools to succeed. I can’t thank you enough.

Best tutorial for any program ever. Lol. I would say, once you learn Revit a little bit, try to model the house you are living in. It will be a real project, not just conceptual, and you will find a lot of things you don't know that you need to learn. "How do I get the window trim to match what I have?" "How do I model the roof to look like my roof?". And you're right there at your house. You can't physically go to famous buildings every time you want to see an angle that doesn't exist online, but you can just walk around your house if you need more details/photos to reference. This will also give you an idea of what things to photograph at a professional job site to accurately model a building, say for an addition or renovation work.

Excellent advice. DIVE IN! For me, I look at Revit as a Lego sandbox, where I can design, shape, cut, etc, any piece that I want or need. I just start by telling Revit I need a piece of x dimensions made of concrete, and boom, you have a slab. The other great point that was made was about not getting "tunnel vision" when problem solving. I have gone to a video to solve one issue, but learned so many other tips that I hadn't even thought about. When those issues came up, I already know how to solve them.

I find that I need to learn new things or I am asked a question about how to do something. From that I spend 10-15 min googling the topic, find some resources, create a folder ie How to xxxx save the shortcuts to this locations. Maybe creating a video and document if it can be catered towards internal workflows. Then share that information. I also use an excel list, with all questions and warning I receive, I then document it in there along with any other information. I find that reduces the overall time I spend re visiting topics I have learned before. It is like a database of the most common questions that anybody can search. Or at least that is the idea
