Thank you. I am truly struggling with anger, rage and hate around the genocide in Gaza. Glad this came up as I am truly struggling to not be constantly angry.
@WuWeiWisdomАй бұрын
Hi @storkbat, Thank you for sharing so openly. It’s deeply understandable to experience such intense emotions in the face of suffering and injustice. Anger can feel overwhelming, but approaching it with compassion and understanding, as a natural response, is a vital step. Acknowledging this reaction without letting it consume you can open a path to clearer, more constructive actions or support. Remember, it's about finding a place where you can witness these events with compassion while nurturing peace within yourself-this balance strengthens our Shen spirit and ability to contribute positively. You’re not alone in this. We’re here to walk this path alongside you. Kind Regards, David P.S. Exciting News! Alex makes a great point. Why do the experiences which do support you, do practice generosity and kindness NOT get the same attention? Why does you IC only focus on the “wrongs”?

@WuWeiWisdomАй бұрын
Hi Tanner, Alex’s point is spot-on. Our Inner Child often focuses on perceived "wrongs" due to unresolved misunderstandings or unmet needs from early experiences. This part of us learned to seek safety by staying alert to potential harm, which can create a habit of over-focusing on negative experiences rather than on support and kindness. One way to gently shift this perspective is through regular self-acknowledgment: intentionally noticing and affirming the times when others are kind, generous, or supportive. Over time, this balanced perspective helps the Inner Child feel more secure and open to seeing the good around them. I spotted this video just at the right time. I was particularly glad when David, after saying that we create our feelings, said that feelings are part of our nature. I didnt understand all, especially why we have feelings. I thought about this for a while and came up with this. Please let me know if it makes sense or if i am wrong. Human beings have biological traits, feelings, etc because they help us individually and as a species and survive and flourish. These include, fear, anger, empathy, love. It stears us away from danger, keeps us safe and help us by strenghthening social bonds. What do you say?
@WuWeiWisdom24 күн бұрын
Hi Mildred, Thank you for your thoughtful reflection and for being such a longstanding part of our community! You’ve raised an excellent point, and your understanding aligns beautifully with the Wu Wei Wisdom teachings. Our emotions, or what we often refer to as 'feelings', do indeed serve an important purpose. They are like signals or messages from our mind and body, guiding us toward balance and harmony. Fear, anger, empathy, and love, as you mentioned, all play roles in helping us navigate life and foster connections. From the Wu Wei perspective, emotions arise from our beliefs and perceptions, not external events. By understanding and refining these beliefs, we can ensure our emotions work for us rather than overwhelm us. When emotions are in alignment with our Shen spirit, they can guide us toward flourishing in a natural and authentic way. Your insight about emotions strengthening social bonds and promoting survival is also spot on-they’re an integral part of what makes us human. When understood and balanced, they can deepen our connection to ourselves and others. Permission to be angry. What if adult can be angry, you as Child cant be angry. If you Child are angry, I adult explode. I, have this story with anger. Love this video. ❤
@WuWeiWisdomАй бұрын
Hi @sasakorosec7213, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It sounds like you've touched on a crucial insight-the dynamic between the adult self and the Inner Child when it comes to anger. Often, the Inner Child may feel unsafe expressing anger, fearing that it could lead to conflict or disapproval. This internal tension can cause the adult self to react strongly when anger arises. A helpful step is to acknowledge the Inner Child's anger without judgment. Instead of suppressing or denying it, offer understanding and compassion. Remind the Inner Child that it's safe to express emotions in a balanced way. This helps create a healthier dialogue between your Inner Child and adult self, allowing you to respond calmly instead of reacting impulsively. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! If one is really in control and not be physically harmed, why does it matter how someone talks to you? Moreover, one may speak nicely to you and really believe you’re an arse.
@WuWeiWisdomАй бұрын
Hi Tanner, Great question. In Wu Wei Wisdom, it’s not just about what others say but how we respond. When we’re centered and in harmony, others’ words don’t destabilise us because our Shen (spirit) remains steady and unaffected. This approach frees us from reacting to external judgments-whether spoken kindly or harshly. Ultimately, when we accept and trust ourselves, we’re less likely to be swayed by others’ words, positive or negative. It’s about cultivating inner peace and self-respect, regardless of external opinions.
