It's infuriating that this game went under the radar by so many. You would think a lot of the Soulsborne/ Sekiro or even Doom crowd would flock to it, but it never seems to have happened. This game better get a sequel.

No sequel right now. New IP that will have some ideas they weren't able to fit into Returnal. I'm sad though & worried as Harry Krueger, head programmer for a long time & directed Returnal, recently left the studio. If we get a sequel it'll be because ps+ "sales" boosted this game a lot. It's amazing throughout.

@@monhi64 It's not just that she's a woman but more that she's not conventionally attractive as a woman. Unfortunately, due to some inner politics behind the scenes giving women like Mary Jane the jawline of a snowplow for Spider-Man 2 you have some people assuming that based on the looks of the protag that there might be an inherently political plot being crammed into the game. Now if you think that's absurd then you only need to look at the most recent blow-up of Gamergate 2, the positive reception for Helldivers 2 when it was assumed to be politically neutral, things like that and there seems to be a trend.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Regarding your question - stat augments (damage, repair efficiency etc) are specific to a given cycle. Only permanent equipment (ex blade, grapnel, extra consumable slot), weapon traits, and ether transfer between cycles. Maybe there's some confusion though as items don't typically affect stat augments. There usually just fabricators that provide flat % increases. There are a handful of artifacts that give X% damage per adrenaline level or X% protection per ether carried, but artifacts and the flat % buffs from fabricators are both lost on death.

to level up traits fast if you get drops in biome 6 use those enemies who continuosly spawn the smaller parasite like enemies and you will get max perks in no time also unlocking too many artifacts may be negative if you already have the most overpowered ones like adrenaline leech or resin shield you might wanna stop adding new artifacts to your pool

Hope this helps for those who are being frustrated with the game and just want to finish it. Do 1 run in the 1st biome and just collect ethers. Collect as much as you can until you die. Don't use those ethers at chtonos when you revive, instead, in your next run, use those ethers to cleanse malignant resins until you have at least 140% health. ☺️

Forgot to mention, rebind your buttons. Default config sucks so try to rebind your dash and jump buttons to where you can still aim and shoot. Had mine at L1:Jump, R1: Dash and X:Consumable. ☺️

Shocking Springs are actually super op. Best used for mini bosses, one hit will stagger the enemy & is very easy to melee two times or just shoot their weak point (seen by pressing left bumper to aim your weapon). It's only usable if you know how to effectively dodge enemies Projectiles while closing the distance, but I've used it recently & really invested time into understanding how to fully utilize this consumable & it is amazing. 30 seconds of instant stagger to practically all enemies on the ground (doesn't work on flying enemies unless they are very close to ground level). Cleared a room with 2 Mycomorphs (tall green guys) & 7-8 Kerberons (dog like blue enemy) in just over 30 seconds, 90% of the damage coming from a single use of shocking springs. One jump & Myco was staggered & nearly half it's health was gone.

The shock jump item drops constantly for me so I learned to use it solely out of necessity. I agree it can be very rewarding if used properly but can punish you hard High risk high reward is my kinda style

@@VetriVade Yeah, you're spot on - just like parrying in most games is high risk but high reward. Returnal is special in that category for me. I've beaten it without dying and only using the starting Pistol just to get that feeling back of high reward & massive adrenaline spikes.

Hey there, unfortunately I haven't unlocked them all - I have a bad habit of playing on and dying instead of going and dropping them off when I find them :). I did see this datacube guide which looked kinda useful if you want to test it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZSxo6F_oZuagaM&ab_channel=VideogamersEU. My only other thought/question is whether the big cube is meant for display purposes (like under the atropian blade) vs an actually thing that is unlocked, but I don't actually know. Good luck finding out!

There's some reasonable guides out there for this fight specifically, but in general keep focused on dealing consistent damage to the chest, and when you get into the phases where he moves, grapnel over to him ASAP. You won't do much damage from far away so get close as fast as you can. You also get some invulnerability frames when you're grapneling, so take advantage of that do dodge spells while approaching him.

En el bioma 4 empiezan a salir, solo debes fijarte en las características del arma, te muestra un candado y un porcentaje, al llegar al 100% se desbloquea la característica. El porcentaje se llena matando monstruos y las más complicadas son las de nivel III, cada monstruo equivale a un 1% y llenarlas es muy demorado. Las características de nivel III salen a partir del bioma 5, rara vez en el bioma 4. Yo tengo un truco para llenar las de nivel III y es ir al bioma 6 y buscar al monstruo que produce unos pulpos pequeños que se lanzan hacia ti y se explota, salen de amontones, cuando los matas sus muertes cuentan, solo tienes que hacerte en un lugar donde puedas matarlos sin matar al monstruo que los produce y puedes llegar así al 100% del nivel III. Si quieres puedes ver cómo mato de fácil al jefe final con armas de nivel III en mi perfil de KZbin

I quite enjoyed the game but sadly it was a lot shorter for me than what I expected. First 3 bosses were done in 1 cycle, and then proceeded to end the game in 2 days. While it was quite fun , I had read somewhere that the campaign was expected to be around 20 to 40 hours :/ nonetheless it was an awesome game and runs like butter on PC

I'm not that super skilled, it took me more than 50 hours. Including to reach the story end in the ascension game mode. But once you finish those there is not much point to play other than 100% everything and reach top score in Sysiphus. I'd say content wise it's much less than Hades for example.

This is great game for that if you dont have time. Just do few arenas and suspend cycle, then come back. You dont have to worry about dying.... it s very similar to Dark Souls SL1 runs. It s just part of it.

You could say that about 99% of games that aren't mobile games Sounds like you just don't have time for games period I work full time, part time on weekends, have pets and family, yet I'd argue this game is perfect for people with little time On days where I only had an hour to play id collect ether and stock pile it for when I was ready for the real run That way I could buy everything in sight when I was ready for the real run. This strat makes the game exceedingly easy, was able to beat every boss first try Games not for everyone which is understandable, but homie you just flat out making excuses 😅
