I recommend doing the story for leveling up to 60. I completed the storyline with a fresh new Druid, i.e. collecting everything from scrach and not opening any portals, not doing Stronghold and Gathering legend or whatever. When I get the story finished, I got to level 53 in 5 hours (how many hours I play per day). Then I found the Druid sucks, start a new Spirit Born which is obvious a lot easier to use. Skipped the story, cleared all Stronghold, joinning every gathering legend I can find, opening up all new area and features for 2 days, I got to level 50, lol.

If you farm the tree of whispers with a higher lvl character, save the caches and give them to your new lvl 1 character to open. You can easily lvl up dozens of lvls that way instantly.
