Ooh ya, that helped enormously. My fridge (an LG) did not have a water tank, instead there is a compact coil of PE(x) (30 feet, maybe more) that goes continuously from the icemaker valve, over the door and out the back… that coil is a few inches shorter now.

Ditto. That coil appears to be used in place of the tank to provide some cold reserve. Without the coil, the fridge likely won't deliver cold water. Sadly, the replacement part listed for my fridge did not come with coiled fridge line so I'm in that boat.

Very informative video. I ordered the part. However, my LG fridge is slightly different. Once I removed the cover under the ice maker, there's a large amount of excess hose. I simply cut the zip tie off and fed some hose through and cut off the cracked part. I now have a spare hose from you guys.

Though my refrigerator is slightly different, this was very helpful. One difference is that mine uses a coiled tube rather than a reservoir bottle. Sadly, the part from AppliancePartsPros was just the line. I guess they have that wrong. I just bypassed that but my water won't be cool. An added gotcha was that I had replaced my filter thinking that was the problem. As a result, it took several minutes for the filter to fill up before I saw water running through it. My filter may well have been bad, so I'm just making that comment should others run into the same thing. (Too bad I had lost the bypass.)

Replacing the water line was so easy following your easy step by step directions! Thank you so much for your excellent and informative video! Good job! (Question: My LG refrigerator did not have that water bottle, instead it had a roll of plastic tubing. Is that extra tubing necessary? I just replaced it with the shorter tubing and saving the old roll in case something goes wrong. So far so good though. If anyone can tell me why there's so much extra tubing in there I'd really appreciate it.)

I know this is 2 years later, but the roll of tubing serves the same purpose as the bottle or tank. It is a holding area for water to get cold so that when you create a demand at the dispenser it isn't coming directly from the house supply, but rather from that length in the refrigerator where it is cold.

Hi there great video. I have 1 issue and it's the small left line on the back of the fridge like the one in your video. It has a small slit/cut on it so when I poor water it squirts out. How do I only replace the small line on the left. Thank you very much.

That small water tank you pulled the line from in the door... What is that part #? Mine is leaking at the fitting. Should I replace the whole tank or just the fittings? It leaks only when I run water. Thank you!

We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.

Can the water line inside the freezer door be replaced in LG Refrigerator LRSC26944TT ? Can't seem to find way to access inside the door. Couldn't see a way to access from outside with the dispenser removed 🥵🤯🤬😡😠

That's not for the ice maker it's for the water reservoir.
