The entire town was without power and telephone service for 6 months mysteriously after the move of this garage.

Great job! What do u think the garage weighted? I have a 16 foot double axle (7k total weight capacity) utility trailer. It has a pretty solid 2” tube sides. I need to raise a garage to replace the concrete. I would do the same as you, remove the double doors and go with a 16’x8’ single door. I’m thinking it may be easier to raise it and move out of the way to make the concrete pour easier.

I think I would jack it up & pour around it & then a week later move the jacks & pour where they used to be. Thinking it is about 7-8,000#?? Either way, Good luck!

As funny as this is, I’m here because I’m planning on doing the exact same thing. Thanks for the encouragement and ideas (didn’t think to use telephone poles). Well done. Did you estimate the weight first?
@MelvinZoopers2 жыл бұрын
We didn't really think much about the weight. Making sure it balanced equally was the key and we knew those heavy poles could handle the weight.

About how much does that cost?

I was fortunate enough to have a neighbor who didn't want his garage anymore & with a lot of help from family it cost next to nothing. I probably spent somewhere around $200 for the screws & the bigger lag screws. The lumber that I used for support was borrowed.
