How to Link FFXIV Glamour Plates to Gear Sets

Anything in the glamor chest can be dyed before placing it on a glamor plate. This is a great way to minimize the loss of expensive or rare dyes being consumed. Pure white, silver and jet black are typically very expensive, while soot black and snow white dyes are common and cheap. Even if you don't plan on going back to that expensive dye, the option is there if you decide it really does suit the glamor you're making with it.

I love this feature. my big complaint is that I don't have enough plates. 15 plates like 23 classes and several roles all sharing the same gear, I guess all my tanks/healers are gonna look the same as I can't give up my beach glam for when I am at Costa or having to do a cutscene in the hot spring in Ishgard/Lakeland. I paid good money for these boots they are suede and not getting them ruined. OH right a glamour tip: Not a big tip, but you can dye an item and not lose that expensive dye without using a glamour plate. We all know that just as soon as we dye an item with that really expensive dye we are going to need to change the glam, but if you dye an item that you are only going to use for the glam and then put it in the glamour dresser it will keep the colour of the dye it had when you put it in there. That really nice Alpine coat that you are given at the end of Heavensward mine is always Sky Blue because I dyed it before it went in the dresser, now if I use it on a plate and then change that plate to something else it will still be Sky Blue next time. So those items that you know will always be Pure White or Black dye them first and they will stay that way as long as you have the item no matter how many plates you use it on.

My ONLY issue with the glam plates? The fact they can't be changed out in the field and only apply in major cities.

i went from scoffing at my glam-obsessed friends and insisting that it didnt matter cuz most of the clothes look cool as is, to running the arboretum for like 2 wks straight to get my plague doc glam. oh how the turntables... XD and while its not my primary objective atm w the huge amt of grind im doing ahead of 6.0, i do enjoy collecting/ finding the individual pieces, playing around w the glam plates and coming up w the perfect glam for each class (or in some cases i double up cuz obv theres not enough for all of em lol) if i were to give some advice, id say if theres a specific glam you have in mind, review your dresser to make sure you dont already have some of the pieces. ive made that mistake a couple times where i grind out the whole set, only to realize i had one or more items already from a while ago that i forgot abt ^_^" great video as always! :D

This. Changes. Everything. Now if only I could assign different hairstyles to different glamour plates, my normal hair clips with some head pieces but I don't like the ones that I use to clip less when I'm not using those pieces.

Wait I’m confused, I got 3 caster types that share gear, but I got a different glam for each. I ended up buying 3 sets of the same gear so they could all have their unique class look. Did I do it wrong? Can I use that ONE set of gear and give it 3 different glam looks per job?

MHMM!!! The limitation is frustrating, but for me I'm normally based in a town or housing area so I luck out :S. There are a few glam items I keep on my person for 'occasions'. lol I keep my swimsuit, my 'cold' or 'rain' gear and some casual wear. Cause you never know right?!
